It’s worth noting too, perhaps, that Twain informs us that Mr Root forecast that the Great Country was inevitably, irretrievably, moving toward monarchy…something our gold-obsessed corpulent mad pig no doubt would think proper…if he thought. And I’d no idea that Twain had almost fought a duel, but for a happy accident, however, in his favor I learned that he came close to being jailed for what he’d not done, and prudently departed that territory.

Metals, generally…I am lucky to have an industrial steel supply in 50 klick range, but the metal prices are so high and changing so fast that it’s a last resort source. Contractors can’t bid fixed price assumptions, and neither can a quote from the vendor be firm except for delivery on the day of an order. For an old fella tinkering at maintenance and “hobby” by far the best source of metal, steel, aluminum, stainless steel…is in garage sales, scrap metal give away (Craig’s List) and the thrift store…the latter being the best place to get stainless steel.

Like electricity, metals (and a number of related materials…helium for example, and neon, and so forth…are the physical baseline of an economy – with education and justice being the social equal. In the Imperium all three (and the rest) foundational elements have been “financialized”, and thus the economy is being devoured by the oligarchy, strangled to death, the people enslaved in poverty-bound debt.

The UN “Gaza” plan…maybe it’s just my ignorance, or intuition, but it reminds me a little of UNSC 82. The canonical story about that is that the USSR’s boycott allowed the resolution to pass. My impression is that the Soviets understood that without their presence the Security Counsel could not pass a resolution – perhaps I’m wrong, but that’s my idea. If they were correct in procedural law, resolution 82 was fraudulent and the “Korean War” was an illegal war of aggression by the “West” and marked the beginning of the post W2 imperialism…and the bleeding away of the lime-wash on the whited sepulcher of the US…which illusion is now quite dissolved. It bled away too a considerable treasure, to be crass about it. Even if the resolution is considered to be lawful, the effect has been nearly identical… Speaking of aggression.. 😉 and Gaza to-day… the dynamic seems similar… a Br’er Rabbit gag … y’all want to go into a mess o’ trouble, get tar and thorns all over, git scratched and bled…whay go on in brother…learn all ’bout it. The principle is to let the mark have what he thinks he wants…of course meantime one may poison the prize – withal a deception.
