Well Sal does know stuff about logistics… He addresses the present and reviews the past…pointing out details about how their lordships saved a few bucks by not keeping a robust fleet of supply ships. I listened to both. My view is that the Plans did not admit the possibility that the local bases on the Iran affair would not be available. Hubris? Sure. Anyway, empires collapse when they can’t pay the army, but before that they discover that they can’t feed (supply) the army…then there are mutinies, after that why bother to to pay the formerly corn-fed lads at all?

It might be a reasonable assumption that some percentage of people upon whom the shock-gloves are used will be thereby highly motivated to get a gun and use it from a safe distance… Injustice tends to motivate folks… It’s stupid.
