Maybe it is a fake story. But it is well known that in zones of piracy some “western” ships have been carrying marksmen who do shoot at pirates, if they’re actually pirates is another question. I have read a bulletin board on the bridge of an Exxon tanker in San Pedro detailing the use way fire-hoses were to be used to repel “pirates”…and there were stories of steam hoses too.
