Well, I think Zappa’s quote goes along with the Voprosy Istorii one…which was by the way, written by A. A. Poletaev….

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” — Frank Zappa

from Voprosy Istorii, 1952, a significant statement…which Stalin noted.

“The American Bourgeoisie have more than once warmed their hands with the flames of Europe, thereby profiting from from the blood and suffering of millions of people. US monopolies have rapidly developed into a mighty fortress of capital with a vice-like [sic] grip not only on the American people but the peoples of Europe and Asia.”

Remarking that the error of grammar , possibly deliberate, is a double entendre.

    …………….

Grandpa Tom at Locals posted a brief History with significance… Thanks to him.

    as follows:

On August 15, 1939, 3 weeks before the outbreak of World War II, the USSR proposed an anti-Nazi alliance to the USA, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom, offering 1 million Red Army troops ready to intervene in Germany.

The Soviet offer, made by War Minister Marshall Kliment Voroshilov and the chief of the Red Army’s General Staff, Boris Shaposhnikov, offered up to 120 infantry divisions (each with about 19,000 soldiers), 16 cavalry divisions, 5,000 heavy artillery pieces, 9,500 tanks, and more than 5,500 fighter and bomber aircraft on Germany’s borders.

“If the British, French, and Poles, along with the USA, had taken this offer seriously, together we could have put some 300 or more divisions in the field on two fronts against Germany, double the number Hitler had at the time. This was an opportunity to save the world or at least stop the wolf in its tracks.” “, said Soviet General Sotskov.

Not only did the USA, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom reject it, they went on to hide it across the entire Western press of the era, as claimed by British historian and professor Donald Cameron Watt, “this proposition was not mentioned in any of the contemporary newspapers, in neither of the two major British dailies nor in the main French one.”

Little before this proposition as well, the British and French signed the 1938 Munich Agreement, in which British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and French Prime Minister Édouard Daladier handed over Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland to the Nazi regime, de facto collaborating with Hitler in his invasion of Europe.

This was the THIRD TIME the USSR proposed an anti-fascist alliance to the Western countries and the third time it was REJECTED, the first in 1937 and the second in 1938, which forced the USSR to sign a non-aggression pact (i.e., a pact not to kill each other mutually) with Germany upon finding itself alone against fascism, a KEY context they never tell you about.

The documents of the anti-Nazi proposition were kept secret for nearly 70 years and are still being hidden in the West as much as possible.

“It was clear that the Soviet Union was alone and had to turn to Germany and sign a non-aggression pact to buy some time, to prepare for the large-scale conflict that was clearly looming against our country,” affirmed Soviet General Sotskov.

After the refusal of the United Kingdom, France, Poland, and the United States to stop Hitler, three weeks later the Nazis would begin a Second World War, occupying some of those countries that refused to collaborate with the USSR and it would end with the death of more than 50 million people, the majority Soviet and Chinese.

This is the true story of the “allies” and not the one told by their propaganda “documentaries” in the West.

    ENDE

    ……………….

Remarking that Diesen and “Uncle Ray” McGovern interview from Saturday 15 August revealed that Ray, similarly to the western (nazi and subject “volk”) ignorance about the beginnings of W2,  did not know about how close USSR and Japan came to a peace treaty in ’56, with the “return” of some Soviet islands! I thought it was common knowledge! (The cryptonazi plan to keep an occupation in Asia brought the US to fubar the peace treaty)

Opinion: I took a look at the ship and the several versions of the class…alas no details about generators…beyond there are two …Allison 501-K34 claimed to be capable of 3 MW each. They added lots of mass  (variable frequency drives) to the engine space…which has to be cooled with “chilled water” inorder to run the propellers… Otherwise, ahbetcha they’d have used more reliable gensets…diesels, which are heavier than the allisons.  The main power, the prime movers, as they say, are gas turbine-generators (three of these about 100,000 horsepower total) Rolls-Royce AG9130F.  Since they have no boilers their water distillation must use electric power (on steam plants these are pretty much without moving parts…though there are electric (or steam powered, or both!) pumps to move the seawater and fresh water) So, my WAG is that both allisons failed, meaning no chilled water to cool the VFD’s, meaning dead in water, with no drinking water, lights, weapons capable of use, no GPS…no rudder… The allison’s are considered to be very reliable…

“The AG9130 generator sets are powered by Allison 501-K34 engines, a marine deriative of the U.S.

Navv’s T56-A-427 turboprop en- gine. The T56 has been in production since the 1950s. The 501-K34 is the fourth generation version of this engine.” https://magazines.marinelink.com/Magazines/MaritimeReporter/198905/content/allison-turbine-installation-200739

So? Lack of qualified personnel is my best guess… The simultaneous (or so it seems) failure of both gensets implies a number of possibilities… maintenance, sabotage, lubricating oil problems… the seawater supply to the lube oil coolers may have clogged with the result that the gensets either lost oil or automatically shut down… which in fact I have seen at power plants…working a crew all night to clear the heat exchanger tubes… Coolers foul all the time…and it’s generally good practice to purge them with the firepump at least once each watch…on steam plants at sea, anyway… 😉 At sea picking up floating plastic, or marine critters, is almost normal.

Comrade Karl Sanchez has been looking at some facts… This is important!

Some of what Karl writes: So, why is the War Criminal Trump Gang so worried about the Hormuz closure when domestic fuel amounts other than price are a non-issue? The lack of dollar recycling to fuel Outlaw Empire debt and current operations because GCC is unable to sell its products for those dollars to be recycled is the genuine issue. That continual shortfall is driving the Bond Market and potential interest rates in a critical direction that the Gang can’t really manipulate, while T-bill and other dollarized asset holder economies enter fiscal crisis and need to generate cash via selling those assets. Thus, the emergency bail-out of Japan that merely kicks the can down the road as the underlying problem remains unresolved. (Yes, the Gulf issue is big for Japan.) Iran has no problem keeping Hormuz closed for as long as it takes for the Empire to squeal its surrender. But that’s anathema for Trump. It’s been suggested that Congress needs to remove Trump so Vance can do what must be done since Trump won’t. IMO, the Bond Market holds the axe.

Zone Kraut...Sprengt das BSW die Brandmauer? (Is the BSW going to blow up the fire wall?)

    Newsletter von Sahra Wagenknecht”

The log-jam of German politics energized by the disaster of being used, as an occupied servile “state” against its own interests, that’s “the fire-wall”…and it is energizing the AfD….

    see (use trans-late-of-tron) https://9o3q3.r.sp1-brevo.net/mk/mr/sh/1t6AVsd2XFnIGKAEYftnxxqS6ZUOHt/TeTw2y9KAOsZ

It’s, maybe, important…as Germany is being taken to war ‘gainst Ruskie, and the “Brandmauer” is key to the drive to war…while BSW and AfD would seek to shake off the occupation and naturally restore realistic policies, thus retreating from the horrors of war with the Red Zone…

Y’all must bear in mind the character of the source… agent Hal of the hysterical frame… Still, there’s probably considerable truth behind his lurid “reports”… After all, speaking of “the bomb”, it’s been used before, twice, and without a military purpose at that! And this time the nazi imperial gang are losing, being laughed (nervously, but laughed) at…and runnin’ out of the non-new-killer-gizmos…which didn’t work very well, having mainly just pizzed off the folks wot they were used on…and the condition of bases, and ships, and morale is pretty miserable…Mutinies? Yewbetcha.  So? So as Uncle Ray McGovern as put it, the “locked box on the top shelf” (the bomb) is… well, what else? They’ll double….losers always double….hope dies, they say, last…

If they use the bomb on Iran, or anywhere ahbetcha…the oil, the “spice”, will not flow. Thus interesting thought come to mind, if the oil doan flow, nobody buys, an’ if nobody buy, they doan need dollars… ‘Course it’s a matter of degree… But that seems, to my rustic mind, like indicating proximate series: use bomb…oil stop…dollar stop….banks and ponzi racket explode… What did Opie say? “I am become death, destroyer of worlds” if old feller remembers rightly… 😉

    1. On August 12, the U.S. Army conducted large-scale exercises simulating a nuclear war.

Specifically, the U.S. Armed Forces conducted exercises simulating a nuclear strike.

The operation involved three E-4B aircraft, designed to operate in emergency and crisis situations.

The exercise scenario included a simulation of a nuclear attack on U.S. air bases and a subsequent retaliatory nuclear strike by the United States.

The exercises considered scenarios such as strikes on remote U.S. bases, a preemptive nuclear strike by the United States, and the conduct of a low-intensity nuclear war.

During the exercises, hundreds of strategic messages related to nuclear war and the use of conventional weapons were transmitted.

Similar activity was last observed on January 21st. Approximately 40 days later, Iran was attacked.

    2. An extraordinarily specific “news” item aired on Russian state Television overnight; specifically laying out which cities and targets in Europe — including AMERICAN military bases — will be struck by Russian nuclear weapons if the situation with the Ukraine conflict continues growing worse.  Here is the relevant text:

“. . .  All European Capitals are under threat if our missiles stand-up in Kaliningrad. Berlin, Warsaw, All the Baltics, Paris, Bucharest, Prague.  Of course, American bases in Germany: Garmish, Partenkirchen, Patch Barracks, Spangdahlem, Ramstein. We will pay special attention to Britain as our traditional enemy, as a significant part of the Northern Fleet will work against it.  Under attack, Washington puts not only London, Manchester,  Birmingham, and the largest Naval Base Devenport, Clythin, Scotland, where the King stores Trident Nuclear Missiles, the port of Sheerness and Chatham Dockyard in the county of Kent.  Britain at its most vulnerable. Basically, all it takes is three missiles and this civilization will collapse.”

Energy crisis could render major Ukrainian uninhabitable in winter — newspaper
According to the newspaper, Ukraine’s power generation capacity has fallen fivefold since 2022, from 60 GW to 12 GW, while the current energy shortfall of about 5-6 GW could double by the winter

BERLIN, August 14. /TASS/. Ukraine’s worsening energy shortages could render its major cities uninhabitable this winter, Germany’s Berliner Zeitung newspaper reported.

According to the report, Ukraine’s power generation capacity has fallen fivefold since 2022, from 60 GW to 12 GW, while the current energy shortfall of about 5-6 GW could double by the winter.

Last winter, indoor temperatures in Kiev fell as low as minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit), with “ice literally forming” in homes, Berliner Zeitung said.

Vladimir Zelensky said earlier that next winter would be “very difficult” for Ukraine.

According to TASS estimates, Ukraine has managed to accumulate about 7 billion cubic meters of gas in its storage facilities, while meeting winter demand requires 13.2 billion cubic meters. Thermal coal stocks stand at 1.2 million metric tons, which is only enough to cover the summer and fall.

(doan ‘spect the nazi dope fiend dwarf to give a chit…)

Baby it’s cold outside…and inside? Cold there too!
