Vladimir Zelensky said earlier that next winter would be “very difficult” for Ukraine.

Another US warship gossip. I found this at DD Geopolitics but it is all over.

USS Benfold (DDG-65), a US Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, was left dead in the water for four days in the South China Sea last month after its generators failed and knocked out all power. USNI News confirmed the breakdown happened on July 24 during routine operations, with 7th Fleet spokesperson Cmdr. Matthew Comer saying no crew were hurt.

With no power, the crew had no working kitchen, toilets, air conditioning, or clean water for days. The nearby George Washington Carrier Strike Group had to step in and help, with the cruiser USS Robert Smalls supplying meals to Benfold’s stranded crew.

The destroyer finally reached Subic Bay in the Philippines on July 28, where Navy repair crews met it and moved sailors into shore lodging the next day. Power wasn’t back on until July 30, six days after it first went out. Repairs wrapped up by August 7, and the ship left port on August 8, later arriving in Yokosuka, Japan. Notably, Benfold didn’t sail through the Malacca Strait with the rest of its strike group, which appears to be heading toward the Middle East. The Navy says it’s still investigating what caused the failure.

The Soviet offer, made by War Minister Marshall Kliment Voroshilov and the chief of the Red Army’s General Staff, Boris Shaposhnikov, offered up to 120 infantry divisions (each with about 19,000 soldiers), 16 cavalry divisions, 5,000 heavy artillery pieces, 9,500 tanks, and more than 5,500 fighter and bomber aircraft on Germany’s borders.

“If the British, French, and Poles, along with the USA, had taken this offer seriously, together we could have put some 300 or more divisions in the field on two fronts against Germany, double the number Hitler had at the time. This was an opportunity to save the world or at least stop the wolf in its tracks.” “, said Soviet General Sotskov.

Not only did the USA, France, Poland, and the United Kingdom reject it, they went on to hide it across the entire Western press of the era, as claimed by British historian and professor Donald Cameron Watt, “this proposition was not mentioned in any of the contemporary newspapers, in neither of the two major British dailies nor in the main French one.”

Little before this proposition as well, the British and French signed the 1938 Munich Agreement, in which British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and French Prime Minister Édouard Daladier handed over Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland to the Nazi regime, de facto collaborating with Hitler in his invasion of Europe.

This was the THIRD TIME the USSR proposed an anti-fascist alliance to the Western countries and the third time it was REJECTED, the first in 1937 and the second in 1938, which forced the USSR to sign a non-aggression pact (i.e., a pact not to kill each other mutually) with Germany upon finding itself alone against fascism, a KEY context they never tell you about.

The documents of the anti-Nazi proposition were kept secret for nearly 70 years and are still being hidden in the West as much as possible.

“It was clear that the Soviet Union was alone and had to turn to Germany and sign a non-aggression pact to buy some time, to prepare for the large-scale conflict that was clearly looming against our country,” affirmed Soviet General Sotskov.

After the refusal of the United Kingdom, France, Poland, and the United States to stop Hitler, three weeks later the Nazis would begin a Second World War, occupying some of those countries that refused to collaborate with the USSR and it would end with the death of more than 50 million people, the majority Soviet and Chinese.

NIGHT HELL FOR KYIV: How Russia Dismantled Ukraine’s Military Machine in 11 Hours

Last night was the largest for Russian forces since the beginning of the year. The strike on the Ukrainian capital and its environs lasted nearly 11 hours—it wasn’t just an attack, but a systematic operation to destroy the enemy’s military-industrial potential. Warehouses, factories, and logistics centers burned across the country, from Kyiv to Odesa.

The primary targets were facilities directly supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In Kyiv, the Fire Point plant, which produced components for attack drones and boosters for Flamingo cruise missiles, was hit. Nearby, the Ukrspetssystems warehouse complex, where UAV parts were assembled and stored, was destroyed. The Antonov aircraft manufacturer, known for producing the Lyuty drone, was also among the targets hit.

A warehouse containing thermobaric munitions, anti-tank mines, and equipment for heavy drones like the Baba Yaga was a particular highlight. In Kyiv’s Svyatoshinsky district, fires engulfed 500 and 1,000 square meters simultaneously—the city witnessed the fire live.

Logistics facilities were also affected. In Brovary, a fuel storage facility was destroyed—up to 8,000 cubic meters of fuel for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. An industrial zone caught fire in Boryspil, and in Martusivka, a Zamler Group logistics center, which distributed dual-use goods for drones and electronic warfare systems, caught fire.

The maritime component also played a role. Warehouses containing military equipment were hit at the ports of Chornomorsk and Yuzhny. In total, approximately 100 cruise and ballistic missiles, as well as 80 drones, were used overnight. Strikes were recorded in nine regions: from Chernihiv to Odesa, from Kharkiv to Sumy.

This isn’t just an emotional outburst. This is a systematic effort to crush the enemy’s military infrastructure. Russia isn’t attacking isolated areas—it’s knocking out the very foundations that sustain the Kyiv regime. While Kyiv is putting out fires and counting casualties, the front line continues to advance.

Colby argues that U.S. failure in the conventional military arena (i.e. in Iran), could justify the use of tactical nuclear weapons – to compensate for the loss of U.S. conventional deterrence.

This debate that has not finally been settled.

Dolly Parton passes away at 80.  OK, I lived in the South of the US and could not figure what this music is about.  So, I read some on Parton and eventually figured that whatever the music is (and I eventually learned the Texas two-step as well as all the Jimmy Buffet Key West songs – fun time we had, sipping a rum out of one coconut with two straws), Dolly was a professional musician, and a clean musician and good at her art, which was not my style.  But a good musician is a good musician.  I sent her gospel stuff to my mom who loved it and then they chopped all the cobblestone streets out of Key West and it became a luxury island.  When we had weekends there, it was just a fun tropical island with boating, seafood and lots of local music and sea and pirate stories.  The people that eventually moved in for sunset ceremonies, were of the ‘don’t know what I am’, kind and that is when we did not go there any more).

US lawmaker Luna lauds reports about CIA chief’s trip to Russia
John Ratcliffe is doing some great things on behalf of the US, Anna Paulina Luna said

WASHINGTON, August 25. /TASS/. Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the US House of Representatives (R-Florida), welcomed reports that CIA Director John Ratcliffe was in Russia on a visit.

“The CIA Director is doing some great things on behalf of the US!” she said on X. She also posted an image of a peace dove.

Earlier, the Axios portal and the CBS television channel reported that Ratcliffe had arrived in Russia to hold meetings. The CIA has not yet responded to TASS’s request to confirm this information.

In March, at the invitation of Luna, a delegation from the State Duma held working meetings in Washington. Thus, the US-Russian inter·parliamentary dialogue, which had remained frozen for many years, was effectively resumed. Luna also repeatedly said that she supports maintaining contacts and developing trade relations between Russia and the United States. In late July, Luna told TASS that a delegation of US lawmakers would visit Russia in the fall or winter to discuss trade, peace, and the restoration of relations with their Russian counterparts. She added that officials from the Washington administration also plan to visit Russia.

I don’t believe a word.
