Bluntly speaking, a submarine with air lock and decompression chamber – and expert professional divers with a generous budget.  And the senile fella said it would happen.

I did diving at 100 feet. And only for qualification – and I was in good shape. I would never dive even that deep again, too dangerous and too rigorous.  At 263 feet the diver is breathing “air” (gas mix) at about 114 psi.  On air he’d be dead quite soon.

So what’s the silly, absurd, NYT fairy-tale for?
