undoubtedly projection on my part but it seemed pascal found this interview as unpleasant as i did.   digestive concerns underscore much of the conversation, becoming all but a third party, or what might be viewed, a dead giveaway.

so many aspects of her disclosures are appalling.  yes, some open onto a view rarely visited in the west yet always intriguing: the early relationships of russia with persia, turkey, the relationships of the soviet russia with arabs, africa & europe, as well as the history of russian jews, england, europe, america & soviet russia.

however—the ignorance—of russia to the genocide in palestine is staggering.  perhaps pepe, because he travels in unique elite circles hasn’t broached this morass for reasons of polite protocol; 2yrs ago pepe observed more than once that people living in moscow & st. petersburg were delinked from the ukraine war; which differs from the above argument that the SMO impacts every russian every day & is the focus of all decisions & concerns.

not surprisingly the conversation fell into to some explanations for the lack of open discussion.  apparently the media simply doesn’t?   well, then social media?   no, really, so you’re saying that there is no common pervasive narrative???   really?   is china & its social media  independent to such a degree that discussion is rampant meanwhile in russia (mo: perhaps due to historical distaste for interference in media, propaganda & public narrative) has allowed hers to be so moribund to have been co-opted?  all without objection, debate, & because of empire’s insane desire to destroy her, she neither challenges nor removes for those dangerous elements working from within?   & there is no public outrage?

perhaps the conversation will need to be continued.  certainly this left more questions than answers, & the answers provided were less than satisfactory.   O well.
