my beloved departed had 3 very good egyptian friends, exceptional mathematicians working in quantum mechanics on the boltzmann equation; attempting to make rigorous the equation encapsulating air escaping an opened bottle.  each had a resolute core similar to  the piercing patient gaze of Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.  they never spoke in my presence of revolution or insurgency but it was always in the air, in the subtext of dinner conversation.  i cannot help but believe there is fire of resistance igniting every village, every street corner in egypt.  it will not pass submissively.
