KeymasterThe most amazing part of that speech was that he gave it just before the phone call between himself and Trump. What I also cannot understand is that the Americans still think they can make sanctions relief a part of Ukraine negotiations. It is as if they are willfully deaf. They put sanctions, and then they want something to remove them. These people are very strange.

KeymasterI’m glad you posted Sony Thang. There are a few Vietnamese and a few Chinese that are closing Ritter’s marine mouth for him.

KeymasterDark horse or black swan territory .. I am not ready to throw it away. I’m not talking civil war (that is farfetched) but not throwing away the idea that Netanyahu could find himself with a newly implanted prostate lol.

KeymasterThis is good news:
The president of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore – who is a Muslim – has reportedly declined an offer from Saudi Arabia to build 200 mosques in his country, according to African Hub.
Instead, Traore suggested that Saudi Arabia invest in schools, hospitals, or businesses that would create jobs for the Burkinabe people.
Saudi funded mosques are usually associated with the Wahhabi strand of Islam, the ideology of many extremist and Takfiri groups that have been used to destabilize countries.
In 2009, then Secretary of State Hilary Clinton testified before a Congressional subcommittee on how the US brought militants from Saudi Arabia, “importing their Wahhabi brand of Islam,” to fight the Soviets in Afghanistan.
President Trump accused the Obama Administration of being the “founders” of ISIS. In a 2014 lecture to Harvard students on foreign policy, VP Joe Biden explained how US allies – including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey – used terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda to overthrow the Assad government in Syria.

KeymasterGeneral comment .. Godfree is still focused on China. His book is still the best book for a starter on China. There are two main (and not the only) people during the Saker times that I very specifically “made famous”. Godfree was one. He started his newsletter and I promoted it! It was unique at the time. As time went along, I added some geopolitical content and he soon followed and some of my content ended up in his newsletter. It was, to my mind, a wonderful collab and I am thankful and grateful up to to today about that. Godfree was also one of the first members of the China Writer’s Group and we had a good time, although I was quiet. I had studied China for a stack of years before then because I also wanted to know what the ‘China Miracle’ was all about. But, I was hesitant to say too much, as I felt I did not know too much. But really, I did know some stuff then, and it was up to Jeff J Brown and, to a smaller extent, Patrice Greanville, to encourage me and mainly Jeff, but Patrice, as well, encouraged me. Again, I am grateful to those people.
At the time, The Saker allowed me one short China article per week, and complained bitterly about Godfree’s name. Free of God eh .. it did not go down too well. Sometimes, I pushed that limit with then current geopolitical content.
Things always change. Substack became a thing and Godfree saw the gap and went for it. He started with longer and very good China content, and soon became Substack famous … More or less similar to The Saker from 2014 onwards when nobody knew anything about the Ukraine, and he filled the knowledge gaps.
But being famous comes with a cudgel. If you want to remain one of the top Substack writers, you need to write what the readers want. The time when I could marvel at the Great Elephant Walk and how the Chinese folks just loved this, and became one with this Walk, and cared for their elephants, until the elephants went back of their own volition, to their area. It seems that wonderful human and elephant time is over. https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/nvkwwg/a_wild_herd_of_wandering_elephants_takes_a_rest/
Substack is a hard task master.

KeymasterI don’t want to knock the enthusiasm. But, it is better to be realistic. Some of these channels are simply there for clicks and will tell anything to get those clicks. There is no footage, because it is just starting. The video itself uses stock photography and most of the people don’t even look like local people.
The 55 ‘ultra modern hospitals’ are actually something in the 30s. They are not hospitals but more rural type health clinics. To make up the number, there are a few specialist clinics and a number of mobile rural clinics on wheels.
Whatsover, this is a wonderful initiative. There is one very big hospital which is a teaching hospital, and that was built and is still being developed built with Chinese investment, and Chinese teaching.
So this is somewhat like the free energy vehicles out of Zimbabwe, which is just not accurate (refer Mr.P).

KeymasterYeah .. I remember that very well. A lovely video of her and her husband singing a song while travelling, a la Route 66 – so healthy, the picture of the US soldier full of honor and integrity .. a downplayed, homemade Hollywood. But people did not look at it properly – a dark horse dirty spy!
But, everyone fell for it. Everyone and I don’t want to blame here but it was everyone — just for examples not for blame —. SmoothieX12, Larry Johnson, Col McGregor, Ripper .,. and so on .. aargh, everyone in that circle. Hope dies last and I feel sorry for them because in the US we have sheer unadulterated ‘friendly looking’ fascism slowly taking root. Amerika uber alles.

KeymasterVirtually the entire Trump slate of government at this point consists of hard-core anti-Iran #EmpireAtAllCosts – and horribly dishonest cultists.

“Trump seems to be backing down. How can Iran have lessened its support? It’s only been two days since his previous rant. Ansar Allah will humiliate him.”

KeymasterAlways songs, poetry and tidbits for the soul.
Let me contribute one time as time is short for me. I’ll bring something about taste.
I usually buy veggies and fruit very locally, and pears are not local here. But where I grew up, they were local, with apricots, all kinds of peaches and such other stone fruits. So, last time I was at the supermarket, I picked up two pears .. not fancy pears, just ordinary green colored ones, but they looked so beautiful. As time always presses, these two pears ended up in the bottom of the fruit tray in the fridge. And tonight, I discovered them again .. Oh my God! I forgot about these two pears!
So of course, I took them out, washed quickly and cut up. And again, Oh My God! I bit into a slice and the sweet juice just literally overcame the space in my mouth and jumped out of that piece of fruit, so it ran down my chin – a glorious and messy thing! A lady person should not eat like that.
It was music, a poem, and a sinfully juicy and delicious taste — these two forgotten pears that I do not usually buy because they are not a thing at our local street greengrocer vendors.
And then, when I was still licking, an email arrived out of Hanoi ..can you even believe it .. a thank-you email for something that was done. And all I could think of was .. do they have pears in Hanoi? And the world seemed small for that moment.
