Experience tells me different.  Just quick, we are doing humanity a terrible disservice with that way of thinking.  Let me say why ..

Where I grew up, we never had TV – only about 20 years later than the US.  The cry that went ou is that we are doomed!  The one-eyed devil .. God’s never gonna forgive us and so on and so forth.   In my religion we were not allowed to watch a TV, neither movies, because with a wagging finger we were told Not to Love the Lie – it did not last long and all these fire and brimstone one-eyed devil types sneakily got their TV.

Then, later we got programmable calculators and computers – Chinese started out with an abacus.  Same story – it’s a devil – it’s a terrible monster  – it is going to (add whichever calamity you can think of, but brainrot may be one of them).  I had a colleague that (early 1990’s) wrote a scholarly article that email will fail as a communication method.

Then, we got networks and oy vey – we’re going to have broccoli growing out of our heads – all these cables and all these connections and so on – remember how people panicked about 3G and 4G and these standards – they are still panicking about wide area wireless communication.  We’re on 6th generation now, and it is only now that we can decently communicate at speed and suitable for space – earth communication.

Cell phones – same trajectory.

You can follow a similar trajectory on farming – farming technologies now will astound someone from the early 1900’s when they still believed a chicken cannot lay an egg if there is not a rooster.

Similar in medicine – bear in mind there are still a vast amount of people that believe a virus does not exist.

Similar in transportation – my grandfather went into fasting and praying when the first moon landing happened (if it happened), as the scriptures say the earth is grounded on its four pillars.  We still have a flat earth society, but there are two space stations in orbit and a massive communication system.  A tokenized economy is the only way one can transact from orbit.

We are becoming a space faring humanity.  Humans are like this – we find things out, we investigate, we experiment – buy a kid a toy and first they they do is to break it to see what it is made of.  We burn ourselves, we do bad things to ourselves – we have not learned to learn with love, laughter and ease.  We have to learn by breaking stuff and making explosions.  (This one too shall pass).  I had an uncle who said one time .. I was a kid and it took me a few days to figure it out.  He said:  ” Where are the days when we cooked inside and shat outside (when we still had privvies outside and I grew up with those) and they had a newfangled toilet installed because the town had to and barbecues for cooking outside.

Your passport is a tokenized document.  Mine too.  We have the closest to electronic passports and a little bit more fiddling, we will wave it and it will connect all by itself.  They told us the earth had too many people, and now the productive society is being paid extra to please have more kids!  We are reducing in population in reality.  It is still only Africa today that is replacing their population with smaller and smaller growth and the whites are scared that the brownies and yellow perils will be triumphant.

Vehicles – old stories, women were not supposed to drive this ‘horseless carriage’ because we were absolutely too stupid!   (Until the wars came and then those prohibitions were suddenly gone and we went on to building roads and making lights for crossings and laws and big bridges.)

Tokens, peer to peer electronic cash over the internet is a normal development as a result of financial technology developing.  In fact, it has worked like this for many years – it is only now that we can have it in our own hands.  Previously, it was in the bank’s hands (remember fax machines and before that, even dots and dashes – Marconi and his Morse code and later radio signals), and previously, it was in the hands of the Roman Catholics, then the jews.

Each time humanity takes something into its own hands, it complains like a bitch!  This technology is going to kill us for sure!   We’re going to turn into this technology or its going to make broccoli grow out of our heads or eat our brains.

Different types of identity documents are similar.  Again, I grew up with a little card with my identity written on.  Now, I’ll probably carry it with me on the cell phone.  In fact, I do.

We will hurt ourselves, we will burn ourselves, we will do ourselves harm, while we break the new toy to see what it is made of and what we can make of it.  No, we are not a token and we will not become a token.  Humanity is too strong and we seemingly have a secret weapon behind us – for arguments sake, let’s call it resilience.

Yeah, I agree. But, I must disagree on a point of order only. Malignant narcissism as he says is not quite a defined thing. It is a description of a set of weirdnesses that has been seen before.

I prefer the simple one – demented – in both the senses of that word. Dementia as we see in some aged, a loss of function, a neurocognitive decline, or just demented, as it covers a multitude of sins.

Yup .. he had a good night!

Geez .. I think it has been too many years for me … It’s been donkey years since Brian blogged under Tony Cartalucci at the old Land Destroyer Blog. He was the only one, excepting Pepe at the time to give us any decent info on that area of the world.

In 2020, Brian went public and changed his pen name to his real name.

He explained his reason that it would be better to defend himself against ad hominem attacks by the Western press. His pen name no longer offered any protection, but had become more of an obstacle for him.

He always seemed straight to me or at least, any correspondence has always been straight. Anyway … he works hard, is a family man and generally keeps himself to the straight and narrow and does his research well. If he is Mr Agent, well – wow, that feels strange. He has never asked me for any information that I did not give. And believe me, I’ve had a few that angled for being handlers.

I’ve just been through Mr Lavrov discussion with Russian press that was posted.  This becomes very clear.

I loved Lavrov’s one statement:  Back then, not only was faith alive, but there was also a lingering hope that we were dealing with honourable counterparts.
