TASS:  Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to set the authorized strength of the Russian armed forces at over 2.44 million people, including 1.55 million active service members.   

Let’s do a rough count, not really broken down:  count:  China Active Duty: ~2.03 million to 2.185 million troops, Reserves: Around 510,000 to 1.17 million personnel Paramilitary: Roughly 625,000 to 660,000 personnel.

DPRK Active Duty Personnel: ~1.2 to 1.3 million (primarily in the Korean People’s Army Ground Force, which accounts for about 950,000 active troops) Reserves: 600,000 standard military reservists.   Paramilitary/Civilian reserves:   Millions more tied to organizations like the Worker-Peasant Red Guard, estimated between 5.7 million and higher auxiliary mobilization numbers. 

Taking the max force numbers, we have touching on 5 million military (not counting Iran but let’s throw in another million, i.e, 6 million).

Statistica says:  Over the course of the Second World War approximately 127.2 million people were mobilized. The world’s population in 1940 was roughly 2.3 billion, meaning that between five and six percent of the world was drafted into the military in some capacity.

But we can argue that between China and Russia the quality and effectivity of weaponry is best in class.  These are questions for SmoothieX2 as I am just playing with numbers.  Nevertheless, these numbers are stunning.  Our world cannot afford another war, not even the economic war that we are in the midst of.

Oil prices climbed for a second consecutive session on Tuesday, as concerns over potential supply disruptions in West Asia caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran outweighed indications that crude exports from the region were recovering.

Brent crude futures for November gained $1.71, or 1.6%, to reach $106.99 a barrel at 06:26 GMT. The more actively traded December contract rose $1.68 to $99.51 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate crude increased $1.40, or 1.5%, to $94 a barrel.

(These are paper prices.  The actual delivered product prices – much higher).

Commentators are discussing Venezuela’s oil revenue, or rather where it is and who takes a share on or off the books, even creating the books and the companies, where there is no law, only imperial extraction of the lifeblood of others.  

While it is fascinating to follow the money on the grab of Venezuela’s oil, it is par for the course. If you steal the oil, would you not steal the money? If you steal the President and his wife despite international law, would you not steal the last hope?

A short moment to review international law on stealing leaders of other counries: According to the International Court of Justice and long-standing custom, certain high-ranking officials have strong protections:
• Who it covers: Heads of state, heads of government, and foreign ministers.
• What it does: It blocks foreign national courts from arresting, suing, or prosecuting them.
• Why it exists: It ensures that leaders can do their jobs without foreign interference and respects the sovereign equality of nations.
• Timeframe: It applies only while the leader holds office.

On the gold, note this is post-Maduro and not the gold that was deposited in the vaults in Britain, for safekeeping. Venezuela will get none of anything. We need to also mention that the US is now saturating Venezuela with US food products, and literally destroying the local agriculture with cheap food. The new type of unbridled colonialism is exceedingly harsh and brutal. That that have a good knowledge of the Rape of Russia in the early ’90’s, can viscerally see and sense the trajectory.

The Trump administration and its business allies sold the resumption of imports of Venezuelan gold as a move that would benefit the US, develop Venezuela’s mining sector and clear out gangs profiting off the minerals trade.

Instead, “hundreds of millions of dollars” of unrefined gold now sits “untouched” in warehouses in the US, lacking ‘ethical production’ certification that would enable refiners to refine it, sources told NYT.

Caracas hasn’t seen dollar one of this money, because Washington strongarmed it into an import agreement under which revenue payouts would be held in US Treasury-controlled accounts and doled out under the latter’s discretion.

Commodities giant Trafigura – which secured a license to market Venezuelan oil, contacted the White House about the right to import gold as well shortly after Maduro’s January kidnapping.

It got the waiver, and has been bringing in up to 400kg worth of gold monthly (refined value: $53.5M), partnering with Venezuelan state gold producer Minerven.

But because the gold was extracted at mines forced to pay protection to local gangs, and allegedly linked to official corruption, it can’t be refined. Venezuela doesn’t get its money, and it’s not clear what will happen to the physical gold now stuck in US vaults.

Iran war is ‘defining confrontation’ toward a genuinely multipolar world order: Mohammad Marandi

“If the United States fails – and it will – it will be a diminished power. It won’t collapse or go away, but it will be diminished. And the rise of a multipolar world will be strengthened; it will benefit enormously,” the prolific political analyst told Sputnik on the sidelines of the Valdai Discussion Club forum.

A victory against Iran would put Washington in “a much stronger position to maintain control over the global order,” Marandi explained.

The attack on Iran was an attack on the BRICS bloc, “because Iran symbolizes defiance against a cruel order that allows genocide in Gaza, that can kidnap presidents as in Venezuela, that can threaten to strangle Cuba and obliterate Iran.”

🔊“Any failure” on Iran’s part in this war “would create much greater momentum for the United States to crush and manage adversaries…So this confrontation is central to the establishment of a new world order – it’s the testing ground for whether multipolarity can actually hold,” the Tehran University professor said.

Asked to comment on the prospects for a new peace deal Dr. Marandi expressed skepticism that an agreement could materialize, “because the fundamental problem is not the mediator – it’s Washington’s unwillingness to abide by what it signs.”

Iran’s terms haven’t changed, and are the same as they were in the Memorandum of Understanding the US committed to and signed in June, but then violated. Iran will not “give any new concessions to the Untied States,” the professor assured.

“At the end of the day, the question is: will the United States implement and carry out its obligations? I don’t see any sign of that now,” Marandi said, predicting “further confrontation” and continued US aggression.

Last night the Russian Armed Forces carried out a mass strike using ground-based precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against logistics centers, port and transport infrastructure facilities, and sea vessels used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As a result of the strike, the following were hit:

in Kiev:
➡️a locomotive depot where a warehouse for ground-based cruise missiles FP-5 “Flamingo” and their components was set up;

➡️the “Bimobile” data processing center, one of the main points for internet traffic exchange, ensuring the stability of information transmission, including intelligence, in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces;

➡️the “Parkovy” data processing center – which provided data processing for state and commercial services, including in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces;

➡️in Kiev region – the “Belogorodka” warehouse terminal, where the production and storage of fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles took place;

in Odessa region
➡️the “Usatovo” electrical substation, supplying electricity to Ukrainian port infrastructure facilities;

➡️a workshop for the production of fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles in the settlement of Velykodolynske;

➡️in Izmail port – port infrastructure facilities ensuring the unloading of military cargo;

➡️ Odessa port, a “dry cargo” type sea vessel was hit, which had delivered military property to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

➡️In addition, at sea, a “dry cargo” type sea vessel transporting military cargo to Odesa port was hit.

A few comments from Marco Rubio to Fox News:  (Yes, it can get worse!)

Sec Marco Rubio announces the Strait of Hormuz is ‘open’  (Open Sesame, Open Already, Open Now!  Call Paula White to open it with unhinged god jumping all across the platform.  Actually, let’s just go and read  Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves – Reading is much more exciting than the movie.  You will read about  Cassim, Ali Baba’s greedy brother, who  successfully enters the cave by repeating the magic words, “Open, Sesame!”  He then gets blinded by the wealth, collects his loot and is so excited that the forgets how to open the cave to get out again.   He tries various passwords … yelling, “Open, Barley!”, “Open, Wheat!”, and “Open, Chickpea!” 

Why do I tell a children’s tale?  Because we’re dealing with dangerous children.)

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio claimed Iran would use a nuclear weapon to “blackmail the world and to kill people”.  (I have no comment besides the US is the only country that so far has used nuclear weapons.  We could start a new online campaign .. the one where the Europeans on all of their social media posts:  I am from X country and Russia is not my enemy.  I’ll say it, I am African and Latin American and Iran is not my enemy!).

Rubio warns Cubans chanting ‘revolutionary slangs’ who think they can ‘wait out this administration’.  ‘They are wrong… will learn the lesson the hard way’.  (The world stands against you!  There was a lot of non-reality at the last UNGA, but this one, what you are doing to Cuba, was one of the main points where the world was in agreement).

Rubio — Washington focused on ‘democratic transition’ in Venezuela.  Says country needs ‘free and fair’  elections — US ‘working very hard’ with Venezuelan opposition to make it happen  (Note, he does not even prevaricate.  The US is working with the Venezuealan opposition .. the old opposition, excluding Maria Corina Machado who they have corralled in the US and after seven attempts by her to get out, they have her caged – the US is working with opposition for ‘free and fair elections’ but only certain opposition.)

Rubio announces ‘foreign actor” behind ‘planned terrorist attack’ on UK base RAF Fairford – ‘I have to be careful… there are some things I cannot say’ – ‘A lot more news will come out’ – Iran openly threatened to attack our interests globally — ‘We’re going to take that very seriously’.  ‘There will be repercussions for that’  (Sure, some script writers are desperately writing a new plot as the first one fell apart within hours, to great hilarity.  Even the so-called perps were let out on bail immediately.  The brand new Iranian passport is probably being printed).

I don’t believe that even the Americans fall for this.  Rubio is the Cassim of our days, shouting Open, Barley!”, “Open, Wheat!”, “Open, Chickpea!” – infantile and asinine.  As FM Lavrov says: ” … presumably done consciously” .

Update on the almost certain False Flag at RAF Fairford – Hold onto your hats – The three vans found outside RAF Fairford two days ago did not contain any ‘viable explosives’, according to UK police.  There is a suspicion the men were engaging in other forms of criminal activity, such as fuel smuggling.  What is known for sure, however, is that RAF Fairford entered the ‘DELTA’ security level the evening before the vans were detected, and that an attack was considered imminent.

Either the British intelligence services misinterpreted the threat, or a true attack was indeed about to happen but avoided due to capturing the wrong guys—in which case an alleged terrorist squad may still be on the loose.
