For the 2nd consecutive day, the US has not launched any attack on Iran. The US is out of weapons, and out of war lust. It does not feel good to loose. It does not mean they are voting for peace, it means they are taking a break and trying to figure out what next and refilling missile magazines, if there are any.  They have too many body bags that need to be hidden.  Various reports indicate that the economic war will continue and the attempted block of the Hormuz Strait will continue.  The US soldiers in the region are homeless.   Sustained Iranian attacks on US bases in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan left those facilities “all but uninhabitable”, according to the NYT.

Brazil Blocks US Election Meddling

Brazil denied visa requests for two Trump administration officials who planned to travel there to question the integrity of the country’s electoral system, according to two Brazilian officials cited by Reuters on Saturday.

Even from a thin report, the signal is clear: Washington still treats Latin American sovereignty as negotiable when domestic politics can be exported abroad. Brazil’s move suggests a hard limit on outside pressure and a growing refusal to indulge US political interference dressed up as official engagement.

This may be a new trend in the Latin Americas.  We have Nicaragua changing its election laws (we don’t know to what yet) to ensure that the type of empire election meddling cannot happen.

From Mexico, we have discussion on the deep right wing using leftist rhetoric in order to disguise themselves, and now that is public.   I do so hope we continue seeing this trend!  Do not welcome your enemy at your gates.  Send them home!

There were two drone strikes on civilian targets:  On July 24, according to preliminary reports six people were killed and another 26 were injured as a result of a missile strike at an enterprise in the city of Kirov.  On the night of July 25, another drones strike killed tourists on vacation at village campsite, Kirillovka, Zaporozhye Region.

Ukraine attacked an Iranian merchant ship in the Caspian Sea; one person was killed and another injured, according to the Islamic Republic’s Foreign Ministry.   Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemns Ukraine’s attack against an Iranian cargo ship, which killed one sailor.  The Foreign Ministry states that in accordance with international law and the UN charter, Iran reserves the right to legitimate self defence if such actions continue.

A gentle reminder to Mr. Zelenskyy:  All of Ukraine is within reach of Iran’s ballistic missiles, including super-heavy Khorramshahr-4.

Take with salt as many stories are doing the rounds.  Nevertheless Trump said from the White House he is ready to hear out Iranian officials to resolve conflict.  The US leader also stressed that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon;  He has said this many times.

Trump has ordered the military not to carry out any further strikes against Iran, Axios reports, citing sources.

According to the publication, the US President has been approving plans for strikes against Iran on a daily basis over the past two weeks, with the strikes being carried out within a matter of hours. On Friday, the US President received a similar plan but did not give the go-ahead for the strikes.

Trump had previously stated that the US is in talks with Iran. In his view, the Islamic Republic is now taking the negotiations more seriously.

President Donald Trump’s administration is set to impose sweeping tariffs on 60 trading partners, including the European Union, according to a notice from U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer’s office released on Thursday.

Greer said Thursday that the 10% to 12.5% tariffs were aimed at combatting “forced labor” violations.

The levies, which take effect on Friday, will ramp up an effort to reconstruct far-reaching duties struck down by the Supreme Court earlier this year. The tariff will begin on the same day that a 10% global tariff announced immediately after the high court’s ruling is set to expire.

The 17 trading partners that will now have a 10% tariff include: Argentina, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, and Trinidad and Tobago. The Trump administration says these countries have made commitments to adopt, and effectively enforce, forced labor import prohibitions.  Products from the European Union or Taiwan will also have a 10% tariff.

All other trading partners, from 41 countries, have failed to adopt a forced labor import prohibition and will have a 12.5% tariff rate. These countries include: Algeria; Angola; Australia; the Bahamas; Bahrain; Brazil; Chile; China, People’s Republic of; Colombia; Costa Rica; Dominican Republic; Egypt; Guyana; Hong Kong, China; Iraq; Israel; Japan; Kazakhstan; Kuwait; Libya; Morocco; New Zealand; Nicaragua; Nigeria; Norway; Oman; Peru; the Philippines; Qatar; Russia; Saudi Arabia; Singapore; South Africa; South Korea; Switzerland; Thailand; Türkiye; United Arab Emirates; Uruguay; Venezuela; and Vietnam.

Trump slaps additional 50% tariff on certain Canadian goods. Brazil was hit with 25%, but, coffee was excluded.  (You know what to do LULA).

When the Trump tariff regime started, countries were stunned, and mostly followed a methodology of negotiation – a methodology of trying to make it not so bad.   Of course, that did not work, because besides the money, this is control. This is to bow before the empire and to follow its rules.  We will see soon what countries will do. They essentially have the opportunity to remove this tariff burden from themselves by not trading,, or to bow to empire.  By now, every country acting to its own benefit should have already replaced the trade or at least have a alternative plan ready.  Those lists of countries, if one is quick and have thinking leaders, makes a market opportunity.

Russia continues:  Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued launching group strikes with air-based high-precision weapons and attack drones.

As a result of the strikes:

💥 at Port of Odessa (Sea Commercial Port of Odessa State Enterprise), tanks with fuel and lubricants for the AFU were eliminated;

💥 at Port of Izmail (Sea Commercial Port of Izmail State Enterprise), facilities of port infrastructure used for unloading and storing materiel, three depots of unmanned surface vehicles, including a Magura unmanned surface vehicle, and a hangar with AFU hardware were hit. In addition, a floating dock for storage and launch of autonomous underwater vehicles was damaged;

💥 at the time of unloading, a dry cargo ship delivering military supplies was hit at Port of Nikolayev (Sea Commercial Port of Nikolayev State Enterprise).

Iran is not at all interested in negotiations. The Islamic Republic will first make the Trump regime deeply regret its aggression and threats of genocide – Marandi .. and Iran has done talking.

India Faces Trade War Spillover

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is confronting domestic backlash as a proposed trade deal with the US coincides with rising pressure from Washington over Russian oil purchases and ties with China. The South China Morning Post reported that the US-China trade conflict has reached India’s streets, with opposition building as New Delhi weighs the costs of closer alignment with Washington.

The dispute places India between competing strategic and economic pressures. New Delhi has sought deeper cooperation with the US, but its dependence on Russian energy and the sensitivity of trade terms at home complicate that position, particularly as US policy hardens simultaneously on China and on third countries seen as enabling Moscow.

The immediate issue is whether Modi can contain domestic political resistance while preserving room for external balancing. The outcome will affect how far India can deepen economic coordination with the US without raising internal costs.

I thought ASEAN will have some good activities but it is weak.  Mr Lavrov’s speech must be posted so we have something from there.  Tomorrow he meets Marco Rubio.  Fly on the wall time after seeing the few quotes that are available from Lavrov’s speech.   There is great friction at the ASEA summit.

There was such a fight in the US Senate when they had Pete Hegseth under their eyes.  Rightly or wrongly it was a joy to see.  Lil’ Pete lost it a few times.

Nicolas Maduro’s trial date has been set for June 1 2027.  The case has fallen apart by the US own documentation.

The US President believes that Infantino is respected around the world and has the ability to bring people together.

The UN has discredited itself to such an extent that even if Trump’s psychiatrist is nominated, it would come as no surprise.

This election for a new UN Secretary General will take place still this year. We don’t have a date yet and the process of election is almost like that of a Pope. Straw poles (secret ballots) are held by the Security Council continually, until they agree. We just don’t see black smoke or white smoke.

NATO troops in Ukraine are absolutely unacceptable – Kremlin

The economic fallout cannot be foreseen. It is now everywhere. These farmers sold their produce to processing companies who then exported. They cannot export any longer. Either there is no fuel for trucks to run, or ships cannot cross the strait of Hormuz or money to buy the produce is just not available.

🇦🇲 Farmers in Armenia have blocked the road to Iran, demanding a solution to problems with selling their crops.

The protesters complain that companies are refusing to buy vegetables from them because they cannot export processed products.

The country’s Minister of Economy Gevorq Papoyan promised to resolve the issue of tomato and cucumber procurement but protesters continue to complain about the problems. For example, one resident of the Ararat region noted that he still has 60 tons of tomatoes left in his fields, which processing plants are refusing to buy.

Yemeni AnsarAllah is not closing Bab El Mandeb, but will embargo Saudi Arabia.

AnsarAllah have declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia (“ban on maritime shipping”) and stated the continuation of a general mobilization “against the Saudi enemy”. AnsarAllah are calling on their supporters to be ready for all scenarios. Saudi Arabia now cannot export or import through the Strait of Hormuz, or Bab El Mandeb. The time is there for Saudi Arabia to choose their path the bell is tolling for them. They have three choices: 1.Continue to target Yemen and go bankrupt a little slower while shooting, 2.Stop shooting, stop the blockade, lose the US and say so, 3.Negotiate a solution that suits Yemen. There are other more unrealistic ones.

Saudi ports are closed by order of Yemen.

The Middle Countries hear the Global Empirical Bell ring and are trying to respond, but this response is still factional.

Turkish party Vatan proposed forming an alliance of Türkiye, Russia, China, and Iran to deter the US and its plans to “restore world domination”. “The only way to prevent the US from starting a great war to restore world domination is to create an international force strong enough to deter the US,” reads the declaration of the conference “Alliance to Prevent Great Wars”.  (This is from Slavyangrad).   They do not say anything about Turkey being a NATO member.

We must all know by now that Spain (1) won the FIFA World Cup against Argentina (0) – the most political world cup in history. We could rewrite that sentence as Spain (Free Palestine) won against Argentina (Zionists).

The biggest scandal among much talk of other scandals is that Trump would not leave the stage for Spain’s celebratory pictures.  Spain’s captain would not lift the cup for photos until Trump left the stage and then Trump’s presence was edited from the photos.

Wry note:  After celebrating the Spain win, Iran is back on bombing Kuwait.
