The reason for an important North African country’s decision to lower the level of its participation in the ceremony is said to be concern about the repercussions on its relations with America.

US ambassadors in African countries have reportedly threatened that if these countries participate in the funeral ceremonies, US aid to them may be cut off. According to Arab diplomats, Rubio personally spoke in this regard with his counterparts in at least five Arab countries. Rubio asked all US embassies and missions to use various capabilities to persuade host country officials not to participate in the funeral. Rubio also asked US embassies and missions to inform countries that their participation in the funeral would be considered an unfriendly step from America’s point of view.

The Yemeni Armed Forces’ Spox:

This Friday morning, Saudi warplanes violated the airspace of Yemen in an attempt to prevent an Iranian civilian aircraft, carrying more than 200 citizens from landing at Sana’a International Airport, which, along with Yemen, has been subjected to an unjust siege for nearly 11 years. However, its attempt failed, by the grace of God, through the Yemeni Armed Forces confronting this attempt by targeting it with a number of air-defense missiles. It was forced to leave the airspace.

According to reports, a passenger plane entered Sana’a Airport to transport a delegation of Yemenis, and possibly the political delegation of AnsarAllah, to Tehran to attend the funeral ceremony.

Reportedly, 2 Saudi fighter jets intended to bomb the runway to prevent the plane from landing or taking off. The operation was stopped first after a Yemeni army air-defense missile was fired, and then after AnsarAllah officials threatened a missile attack on Riyadh. The plane is now flying from Sana’a toward Iran.

[And then certain commentators want to tell us that Saudi Arabia is busy with a new agreement on regional security. We will talk about that!]

The head of Iran’s Journalists Association provided new details about the Doha negotiations involving Iranian and US delegations during an interview with #AlMayadeen.

Mashallah Shamsolvaezin said the United States made repeated efforts to secure direct meetings with the Iranian delegation. Tehran rejected proposals for face-to-face talks and insisted on keeping engagement indirect through mediators.

He also stated that the Iranian side observed unprecedented flexibility from the US during the discussions. He added that there were indications of movement on the issue of frozen Iranian assets held in Qatari banks.

A huge earthquake (aftershock) has once again rocked Caracas in Venezuela as the country reels from multiple aftershocks. Nabih Berri vowed to confront the US-brokered Israel-Lebanon agreement politically, warning it could spark internal strife.

‘US and Israel must be brought to justice for their crimes’

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered Iran’s Judiciary to pursue prosecution of American and Israeli officials for war crimes committed during the 2025 and 2026 attacks on Iran. Putin says Kiev proposed limiting the fighting to just four territories: Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson, and Zaporozhye. Speaking in an interview with VGTRK’s Pavel Zarubin, Putin said Russia rejected the offer because it would let Ukrainian forces regroup and shift units from elsewhere on the front into the southeast. The Venezuelan opposition is using the earthquakes to attack Delcy Rodriques and other leaders.  The media reports and physical interference with the rescue process tells us everything we need to know about this opposition and one can say they use NATO provocation and media tactics.  The Venezuelan authorities have closed off the area of major earthquake damage so that the rescue teams, 1,000 or more trained rescuers with equipment, from various countries can go in and work undisturbed.  The fatalities now count in excess of a 1,500 with an estimated 55,000 bodies waiting to be identified.  The logistics of this operation are daunting.  Maria Machado, the peace prize winner is not being allowed to leave to Venezuela from the US.  (A good thing it is too, but they just want to get the oil pump going again and Machado will attempt a coup during the emergency).  Groups of the opposition approach the closed areas and on being told they cannot enter, complain bitterly that they are not allowed to dig for survivors under the rubble.  Of course they do not report to volunteer centers.  It is the race against time now and untrained people cannot be allowed to run roughshod across a very large area under rubble.  There is one accusation after the other from the opposition.  The media instructions are out and we see one after the other report on how fragile Venezuela is (of course! what is not to understand after catastrophic earthquakes) and it is of course the fault of the leadership.  The opposition is attempting a naked grab for power.
