Ahem’memberin’ reading this in grade 7, to the evident consternation of my English teacher…who quietly asked “Does your mother know you’re reading this?” Whereupon I said she’d suggested it…then dear Teacher ordered me to hide it from the other kids… alas! I did not obey… My copy was a translation… and, a few years later, I gave it to a girl I fancied…whose name was not Pam…and she was a red-head…not a blond.

I used the wiki definition of “civilization”…which claims class stratification is a fundamental, and bore in mind that the inevitable result – class conflict, is the basis of human history (per Uncle Karl). Some sort of collective socialism – sure – but the road has many paths, some violent, some not. As a matter of faith I agree, but the technical complexities and powers throw a wrench in the “machine” of “inevitable collective socialism”. I am remembering the Question asked by Lee, in East of Eden…the meaning of Timshel.  His Sage elders studied, and determined that it meant “Thou mayest triumph over evil”…which is, as I understand this, accurate, doctrinal. This is to say it’s not yet determined. Failure is possible. There is doubt, and a burden of responsibility.

I am loath to see rhetoric as insignificant, rather otherwise, I think. It often reveals the fundamental assumptions of a speaker, and from these one can deduce or discover the contradictions, which lie within the world view of the speaker…and thus his vulnerabilities, and fears – thus his probable future actions. It’s a window to Strategy, and intent.

Indeed there is resistance. It’s my personal view of matters that such manifestations are to be understood as echos from the future…that they anticipate.

A “source” or indicator of things, matters, is BBC Radio “news”… their topic to-day being the Mountbatten spawn “Andy” – they chatter endlessly of his arrest, etc… This suggests that other very gave matters are to be avoided. Therefore ahsuspicion the war is going to or is by some perhaps magnitude increased.
