Agree about juvenile weed, and dope generally…youth is time for no dope. In mature (40? yo) adults of strong character it’s a dangerous excursion not to be done much, if at all, and maybe weed is ok in several ways for the old and for those in pain, it depends… I have observed, however, on construction jobs, that the best and most productive welders smoke lots of weed on the job. That’s interesting. (hey , 12 hours in the sun watching an arc smoke on rusty steel…is majorly boring! ) And I recall that under Nixon the Post Office did honest science about accidents and productivity in solid study. They discovered, iirc, that the new hires that tested + for weed, (and nothing else), were the best employees. Of course these people did well also on the civil service exam. As to believing democracy in zone west coast among the skilled trades…this belief is rare. When that happens it may bring me troubles…we are (officially) poor, and prefer that honest state. Being involved would be very unpleasant. That’s my tiny window into the bigbuckpeople.

I recall reading recently that an Anglo-American Plan notationally intended to prevent USSR-Russia from joining with Third Reich in the war, presumably as allies, existed. They would attack USSR to prevent an alliance between Germany and Russia. This idea seems imho unrealistic, given the characteristics of the ideologies and Russian culture and German culture itself, a common alliance seems risible. I suspect the mooted reason is a deceptive one. And that the bald and obvious implication is that it would be the Reich with which the Anglosaxon Armies would join, as “racial brothers in a glorious”…oh, you know… Anyway, I am sure I read that, and I am sure Winston wanted his damn’d bomb for Russia, so it figures.
