I finished Helmer/Doctorow. Wow! I have a number of opinions about the men and their topics. Of the men, Gilbert is the better rhetorician, Helmer the better intellect. Of their topics Helmer’s point about the secret annex to the Cokester’s “peace plan” is very telling – he deduces it is an agreement to transfer of US nuclear bombs and “delivery” machines to nazi base 404. Since the delivery machines may be nominally German I assume it’ll be NATO (US) bombs engineered to slip right in and with compatible electronics. I deduce that the nazi HQ intent is to create a “frozen” conflict. (and that’d be a non-starter, and will result in the Red Army on the Polish border, which is probable anyway, imho). Halmer and Doctorow begin with some pretty blunt words for one-another, btw. Very long discussion, altogether near 2 hours! Though the great intellectuals depart after about 1:30:00. These two probably will not agree again to debate, but Alex the elder will surely bring each again to the forum of Duran. I look forward to that! Especially Helmer. I begin to conceptualize the general shape of the new-forming “Soviet Union”, which is not soviet, and is Eurasian, and much more protean than “iteration Lenin”.

ParticipantWell, I’m not sure Rogozin intends or represents a return to USSR or Soviet Socialism, it’s my understanding that according to the Soviets themselves they never had communism, it was a goal. I think, however that he and his similarly minded “fellows” do represent a classical evolution form of the Russian Empire, not to confuse that with western capitalist imperialism. If I understood Joti Brar’s recent dialogue, she sees great danger to the Chinese and also Russian states from their wealthy bourgoise, we might say the the big nazi state is a natural product of an unrestrained bourgoise and the resultant unrelenting global plunder and murder. iiuc Rogozin fears these potential traitors and would bring them to heel. I note that re-nationalization of Soviet manufacturing is, to some extent, already underway…so “it’s happening” in a limited way now. As to USSR, I well remember Maria Simonyan “tweeting” her enthusiasm for precisely the restoration of the Soviet Union. From that and many other “inputs” it seems that many former Soviet peoples would like to see the great State evolve back in a better but recognizable form. In any event, we’re not cheer-leaders, it’s for the Soviet peoples, their children, and the war veterans to decide.

In the text we learn, imho, that the Ruskie bourgeoise, the rich, and the potential and actual persons of doubtful character, may find themselves in trouble, if Rogozin has his way… (I think he will) Joti Brar opined in this matter with China, and I think, Russia, quite recently. People who have and who worship money and power eventually undermine the State.
