    Sal’s proposal to escort ships (obviously with warships) may be precisely what the fellas want, more valuable targets! I mean when you hit somebody it’s because you want them to respond, right? I remember a couple of fellas at the bar – somebody threw a brick through the window, and these guys said “we’ll settle this!” They went outside and we heard two gunshots – both guys died right there….they fell for the gag.

    The stated “without US support” is at variance with the reality of now…see Nima and Helmer, specifically & Helmer’s valid observation that the sabotage and sinking or Russian ships defines things as war already, as well as the US inability or unwillingness to engage in diplomacy by peaceful means…war constituting diplomacy by violence.

The “allies” bombed the city many times. Once a city is defended it’s a target…so the argument went at Nuremberg…not that such nice distinctions abide these days. Only the Germans were tried for the crime, not the allies.
