I read the forbes article. Interesting frame of question, as “compete” … if victory is goal, competition is wrong word… “prevail” was not used. 😉

But can, could, the US prevail? imho, no. Laut diesen Plänen wird zur Sicherung der Kontrolle über diese Gebiete ein Einsatzkontingent der “Koalition der Willigen” in die Ukraine entsandt – etwa 50.000 Mann. Offiziell soll dies als “Entsendung von Friedenstruppen im Rahmen von Sicherheitsgarantien” bezeichnet werden.
