I read the forbes article. Interesting frame of question, as “compete” … if victory is goal, competition is wrong word… “prevail” was not used. 😉

I gather that the goal is profit by very spendy government subsidies.

But can, could, the US prevail? imho, no. BTW, in WW2 the US flew drone P-38 television-photo recon over Japan…controlled by a ton of radio stuff and a crew of techs riding in a B-29…I clearly recall reading about that as a kid in school. The reason the US can’t prevail is several…but basically the corruption and looting of the economy has gone too far…materials, mines, education, morals…a long list. Against this dissolute decline we see a solidifying coherence of the Heartland and civilizational state…mene mene tekel upharsin…
