Trump said that if the Russian President doesn’t resolve the Ukrainian conflict, “it will end badly for him.” He’s making this threat for the hundred and first time, in short.

If “business peacemaker” is referring to the Tomahawks, the phrase is incorrect. The delivery of these missiles could end badly for everyone. And most of all, for Trump himself.

It’s been said a hundred times, in a manner understandable even to the star-spangled man, that it’s impossible to distinguish a nuclear Tomahawk from a conventional one in flight. It won’t be Bandera’s Kyiv that launches them, but the United States. Read: Trump. How to respond to Russia? Exactly!

One can only hope that this is another empty threat, prompted by protracted negotiations with a cocaine-addled clown. Like sending nuclear submarines closer to Russia. Well, you know how it goes: a submarine surfaces in the steppes of Ukraine…..

(I am under the impression that these obsolete flying bombs can be launched only from aircraft, American or “NATO” aircraft, thus expect the foolish pilots and their also obsolete airplanes to vanish in glorious balls of fire…along with the “NATO” zone which provided guidance and control…possibly Ramstein bunker complex… That zone was once a swamp, by the way…so maybe the bunkers are not very deep…)

I don’t know if that scales, but that would be my assumption   😉 Alternative tactics such as burning his hideout were discussed, but not included in the text… I assume this tactic applies on the strategic scale to piratical operations that threaten to invade oil zones and steal the fluids… Gospoden Dmitriev might want to keep that in mind…

From memory…before coaked coal, iron was extracted from the oxide ore by wood charcoal, and maybe some limestone, in a tube or even a hole in the ground. An air-blast was necessary, either natural wind or bellows. (bronzes can be made similarly) The carbon from the charcoal combines with oxygen from the air and the oxygen of the iron oxide…but the temperatures created aren’t high enough to really melt the iron into a liquid that will pour. When the charcoal burns away and the ashes cool the metallic iron is found in a complex of glass-like slag and bits of un-burned carbon. This mass is then re-heated and hammered to squeeze out the oxides…this, then, is wrought iron. But if the process is continued in a carefully managed reducing fire, it’s then called “steeling”…and by this process all sorts of steel tools can be forged. The process is very labor-intensive and gives the smith, really an artist-chemist, considerable political power…he’s a treasure guarded by his lord. All this means, more or less, that in places that had high quality ores near the surface, and plenty of wood and fellas to chop it, carry it, burn it to charcoal, etc etc etc, the wealthy people had iron and steel. Note too that arsenic-copper bronze is almost as strong as steel, and it doesn’t rust…bronze was, for many purposes, the preferred material, as it could be cast as liquid in the same furnace design as iron could be made into “sponge-iron”.

Steel is mostly a particular category of iron. Traces of other metals in the ore, even in tiny proportion, make big differences. So does the way the materials are heated, cooled, re-heated, and so on.

I did my time at the foundry hearth, and actually have a forge…alas no coal is to be had at Anoxia. We use propane. Mostly we don’t use it… I’d like an annealing oven… if fortune smiles I will.

Thinking about “stupid”. When a situation makes failure certain, then everything that is done looks stupid. But how does a situation guaranteeing failure come to exist? This minds me a story I heard from a fellow, a student at Valley State (he got his BA, btw)…this fellow ran an auto-parts store and we used to chat. At college he used PCP quite a bit. And he had a good time. One such good time consisted of running naked along the median of the Hollywood Freeway…while he thought that he was on a sunny beach (iirc the story).  From this story it occurs to me that delusions, and they may be inescapable and even necessary delusions, create stupid actions, leading to failure.

Speaking of delusions, they say the well-nourished old guy and his nazi cohort imagine tariffs to have some sort of effect on China…. Very amusing delusion… 😉  hahaha… Their basic assumptions are incorrect, and thus their delusions are inescapable.  Very much like the fellow on PCP…
