KeymasterA feedback .. AHH, the shorter posts seem to work better .. I have not frozen up on the thread, and I’m not getting server alerts. Everyone else? Is it working better for you?

Keymaster“Amarynth, the whole page takes the loading, not just the individual posts. So, less embeds per each post and more posts equates to the same load.”
At the end of the day yes – but not in the process. There are pre-loads once one has accessed one time. I fly in here and scroll to the latest. Please, I’ve sat and watched the loads.

KeymasterLet’s think of shorter posts – perhaps that will be easy? Try what does not burden you and I’ll check.
Shorter posts but more – with fewer embeds each – so, you will make for example three posts instead of one – am I making myself clear as mud here? we may just be able to get away with that.
Then you refresh threads at your normal cycle? Worth a try ..

KeymasterSouth Africa will take measures to protect its industries in response to new US tariffs;
Big big problems. They have not started and are trying to go and negotiate with Trump but they want to send the white guy and the black guys are too jealous so they’re fighting about that. They asked for an extension, the administration gave them one, and now, they are not ready. 170,000 jobs lost over the past few months and the AGOA free trade agreement will run out and not be renewed. 30% tariffs. I look at Mexico and see how they are not leaving anything to chance, negotiating daily and their tariffs are now 60 days extended. Good .. time works as well. But they are working like crazy to diversify trade.
Big big problems right on the doorstep in South Africa and now rolling downhill. They called a National Convention and after the ANC would not let go of the agenda, everybody walked out. Every single organization, blacks ones, white ones, mixed ones, rainbow ones .. simply walked out. Ramaphosa made a long speech about women’s rights and nonsense. I cannot even write about it as I feel too sick. Ramaphosa is not answering questions, but he runs from the press. This is a country that should have negotiated as their asses are tied up with US trade. OK; sorry, small potatoes.

KeymasterNot going to Moscow ..
Trump said the meeting in Alaska with Putin will likely be preliminary.
⚡️ Trump did not confirm any intention to invite Zelensky to the meeting with Putin in Alaska.
⚡️ “I’m going to tell Putin to end this war,” Trump said.
⚡️ “Putin is coming to our country, unlike us going to his country,” Trump said.
He said it in a manner of speaking. But who knows if he knows where he is at.

KeymasterLittle things like this: The head of the British Foreign Office David Lammy, and the American Vice President J.D. Vance are organizing a meeting of national security advisors from Europe, the USA, and Ukraine on Saturday, according to the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

KeymasterOh, I agree, but not always with the framing.
There is but a part of the world that flows with the framing. The interesting part comes when one looks at other framings.
The sanjiao (“three teachings”) of Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism – It is not only culture or religion, but even cemented into Traditional Chinese Medicine. These are pillars of civilization.
Check the trinitarian idea, which I find fascinating. From the distant past and identified in the sixth century, “Buddhism is the sun, Daoism the moon, and Confucianism the planets.” In other words, the whole of our existence within our solar sphere. (OK, these days we have a very big universe out there but those days, that is what they worked with).
The overarching beliefs here are not heaven and hell, and the rulers of the world. It is both more nuanced and more definitive. Societal harmony, balance and goodness. When those are in balance, then the world will be just fine. So, it is not something that has to ‘leave the world, or be killed, or cast into the everlasting pit of hell’ but more something that needs to be included in our beings and togetherness as humans on our planet. The opposite reasoning. “I’ve seen the enemy and he is us”?
In the Orthodox, Russian or Greek or those ones, they do not call out ‘sin’ exactly. They call it ‘missing the mark’. I think that by externalizing, instead of internalizing, out our three monotheistic religions are sometimes missing the mark by half a world.

KeymasterJust a quick note on something that may have led to a wrong understanding. At GlobalSouth.co, we’re looking very hard at alternative voices, outside of the US. It is turning out to be a challenging task, as somehow the rest of the world is not on interviews six times a day.
So I find enormous quality, but not so much quantity. It’s a fantastic thing to see.
Then, on the weekly US video cycles of all those that we know, I find a sense of hysteria. Not quite hysteria yet, but approaching that. More of a confusion powered by uncertainty, with a push to try and make some facts, sometimes. Everyone knows precisely what Putin is thinking and why he is saying what he is saying. Well .. thus far, Putin has been ahead of me at least – I cannot know what he thinks, why he believes that, and why he is saying what he is saying.
Anyway, this is just an experience, and I might be assessing incorrectly.
What I wanted to say is that, because we’re looking for alternative voices, it doesn’t mean you cannot post those that you like and are meaningful to you. I hope I have not inadvertently stopped that .. That is not the idea, and apologies if I did.

KeymasterAHH, you will be wrong on many layers here. (Sorry for calling it wrong – I don’t mean to be insulting). Understand first that this region has been resisting in the way that was possible for them for possibly 200 years longer than the Palestinians.
CELAC, that little toy, displaced the comprador, which is the OAS. I don’t think anyone can question what is happening here, while not tying it to the Arabs which is a damn site worse in terms of unity. There is unity here – LULA just needed to have Trump kick him in the ass is all. And Columbia is Colombia.
But, you did make me laugh. So, assume there is a missile battery here in Venezuela, and boom, there goes a missile or a few to some Florida US military thing. There are about 200 of them. And they hit them with at least 6 Oreshniks, fully loaded with 6 warheads each and that one disappears. Now there are 199 bottles left on the wall.
Now, what’s next? Imagine Venezuela taking their toy subs that they bought from the Chinese toy store, and grab their toy airplanes that they bought from that same store, and their ships that they bought from the baby bath toy store and their guns that they bought from .. ha, I don’t know, I’m sure there are some … and chase across the Panama Canal with their 350,000 masses of soldiers (of course there are not 350,000) and run across Cenrtal America with their tanks that they bought from the Chinese play tank store, and raid the cartels for drones, and go and do what needs to be done with feet on the ground in the US. And if a military force should land, or a missile shot back, what are these guys going to do? Shoot mangos, bananas and corn and fresh blueberries already packed? Those Avos make a hell-of-a-messy shot! I’m not mocking, I’m trying to give you a visceral feel.
There are no major militaries here. Mexico has a near shore navy. Brazil has a bigger military that can defend near-shore waters, and its coastline is too big for that even.
You’re talking absurd stuff. No, they don’t know they are ‘next’. There is no strategic value in Central and South America in terms of a world war. There is only value in raiding them. And, the US can come in and raid at will. These people understand that and will NOT MAKE THEMSELVES TARGETS, as they know what it is to be targets of the Monroe Doctrine and the Backyard Doctrine. The last war from an external force was the Brits coming across the oceans and going to war to maintain their islands, called the Falklands War. The BRITS with their 3.2 warships won against one of these kinda non-existent mighty armies down here. The previous one was Brazil I think, somewhere in the 1800’s.
Armies down here are for civil disturbances. I don’t think any of them have even a submarine, except those little glass cute ones that they use to replant and reseed coral forests. I’ve only really checked Mexico, and they are a NATO ally member, but only for peacekeeping missions. There should be more countries down here like that but Brazil is not a NATO ally.

KeymasterA note about missiles in LAC. LAC has an agreement via CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States). CELAC’s membership is 33 countries and 5 working languages. At the 2014 Summit – Cuba – and confirmed in subsequent meetings, the region was declared a “peace zone”.
I’ll put money on it (just a little) that none of the CELAC countries will allow missiles on their territories, not even for Russia and least of all CUBA, which remembers very well what happened. (Ships? the story changes.)
In the extraordinary circumstances that the US may place missiles (say for protection against subs, or the Antarctic, or it would have to be strange circumstances), the situation changes.
The next CELAC summit is in November. All indications are that the hegemon will interfere, of course, possibly by way of Europe, as CELAC handles the region’s trade with EUROPE more or less. Venezuela kicked out the EU, last I heard. Brazil and Mexico are prominent CELAC voices, but CELAC will confirm the concept of a “peace zone”. Countries here will not easily make themselves targets.
