Even so, I think it would be extremely salutary for America if many of Trump’s policy aspirations really do come true.

So … as much as I hope many aspects of the “Make America Great Again” agenda come to full fruition, I perceive many obstacles on the road between here and there.
One of the more intriguing propositions currently being floated is the push to audit US sovereign gold holdings.
The Treasury can monetize ~$750B right now if they do like the EU and mark to market their gold holdings — a move that would likely spike spot gold to well over $5k/toz.
At $10k/toz, the Treasury’s alleged hoard of 8000+ tonnes would represent a $2.5 trillion dollar asset that could be levered up, say, 4x or so — a quick $10T in the national checking account.
But it will require the first proper audit of US gold reserves in living memory.
Then they’d probably nationalize the mines in all 51 states. 😏
Anyway, I’m very interested to see whether or not Trump can bring to pass his domestic agenda, even as the push for a big war presses upon him.
Meanwhile, there can be no doubt many powerful interests, both within and without the United States, feel increasingly motivated to “nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand … whatever it takes.”
For me, the scent of multiple great dangers is heavy in the air.
