Gaza / Israel updates on this thread in the comments:  https://sovereignista.com/2023/12/07/hamas-official-press-conference/

I’ll update on Daily Chronicles tomorrow.  The results of the vote yesterday is coming in.

Dec 9

Just how bad is Gaza? A study just concluded the “civilian proportion of deaths is HIGHER THAN THAT IN ALL WORLD CONFLICTS IN 20TH CENTURY” And that’s 20TH CENTURY, you know, the one with both world wars. The horror we’re seeing is truly unprecedented.

Dec 8

UNITED NATIONS, Dec 8 (Reuters) – The United States on Friday vetoed a United Nations Security Council demand for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in the war between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza, diplomatically isolating Washington as it shields its ally.

Thirteen members voted in favor of a brief draft resolution, put forward by the United Arab Emirates, while Britain abstained. The vote came after U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made a rare move on Wednesday to formally warn the 15-member council of a global threat from the two-month long war.

The United States and Israel oppose a ceasefire because they believe it would only benefit Hamas. Washington instead supports pauses in fighting to protect civilians and allow the release of hostages taken by Hamas in a deadly Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

(Hear me cuss and roar!)

It is clear who the killers are.  Shame on you and your descendants!  You and Israel will experience world rejection for as long as 100 years and more!  Stay in your home now, we don’t want to see you!

Russia’s representative to the UN’s Security Council: The US’s obstruction of a ceasefire is an American death sentence against thousands or maybe dozens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza.

“One can speak cynically with nice empty words about democracy, human rights, women peace and security, rules-based order as much as you like. However, the real value of those we have just witnessed when two members of the Security Council preferred to remain complicit to the merciless Israeli bloodbath,” he added. Says he’s confident that vote outcome “has rebounded painfully in the hearts of ordinary people in the USA and UK whose calls have gone unheeded.

Zhang Jun –@ChinaAmbUN
It’s extremely disappointing and regrettable that a UN Security Council draft resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza was vetoed. 100 countries including China co-sponsored this draft. Although the resolution was vetoed, the overwhelming view of the international community is clear: an immediate humanitarian ceasefire is the overriding priority. We will not stop but continue to make our efforts to save lives, to uphold justice and to pursue peace.
Amb Mansour describes …

the veto as beyond regrettable and disastrous and says it is a turning point in history. Thanks the more than 100 countries that co-sponsored the #Gaza ceasefire draft resolution (the number increased during mtg). “This is a terrible day for the Council. We reject this result and will continue resorting to every legitimate avenue to stop these abhorrent atrocities, including resuming the Emergency Special Session of the #UNGA.”

Vladimir Putin has announced that he will seek a fifth term as Russian President. The election is in March, and would see Putin hold power until 2030, when he will be 77.

Russians will go to the polls for presidential elections in March 2024, with the incumbent presently enjoying overwhelming public support, according to polling by a number of Russian public opinion institutes.

Case in Point!

G7: We are tearing Russia’s economy to shreds! We don’t buy Russian diamonds anymore

India (hold my beer): OKAY.

India lifts ban on diamond shipments from Russia

It was imposed to prevent oversupply and maintain diamond prices. But as of December 15, the ban is lifted.

Tomorrow
India: Psst, Europe, want to buy diamonds?

Vladimir Putin today on the sidelines of the “Russia Calling!” forum will meet with Crown Prince of Oman Ziyazin bin Haitham Al Said.

Thus, at the end of two days, Putin, who is in so-called “international isolation”, talked or will talk with the leaders of:

🇦🇪UAE
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia
🇮🇷 Iran
🇴🇲Oman

The last 2 visits are in Russia today and Putin will speak to President Raisi of Iran, who has landed already.

CHAINSAW MANIAC PREZ BACKS DOWN: Argentina’s President-elect Milei (pictured) is cooling down his hot libertarian rhetoric that got him elected days before his inauguration.

Milei is sacking TOP economic advisers who were supposed to dollarize Argentina  and softening on “assassin Chinese Communist regime” as he now exchanges warm words with Beijing.

😯 Is Milei South America’s Meloni?

It’s difficult to comprehend how this level of dumbed down simplicity flies with the public, and yet it does:

  1.  Blinken: We need to ensure that Ukraine succeeds and Russia fails. If we don’t, we know that if Putin is allowed to act with impunity, it will open a Pandora’s box of aggression around the world. Other potential aggressors will see, listen, and learn from this.
  2. “If Putin takes Ukraine, he will then attack a NATO country and the American military will be fighting the Russian army” – Biden.

Dec 6 (Fighterbomber writes:)

Today marked a rare event in the history of military aviation and in the history of Russia

The aircraft of Russia’s Supreme Commander-in-Chief completed a non-stop flight to the United Arab Emirates, escorted by a fighter wing of the Russian Air Force, fully armed.

The rarity lies in the fact that there are very few—if any—such cases globally. This is because there are no other fighter jets in the world capable of covering such distances with weapons, without refueling and without additional fuel tanks.

Moreover, very few countries generally permit armed aircraft to enter their airspace, except for allied nations. Typically, escort duties are handled by fighters from the host country. However, in this instance, it was a continuous chain of escorts from takeoff to landing. They even treated spectators to a brief air show after arriving.

This move serves as a transparent message to the entire world, akin to ringing a bell! Kudos to those who conceived the idea, those who organized the event, and those who executed everything flawlessly.

The day did not pass without significance.

Martin Griffiths, the UN’s top aid official, says the situation in Gaza has now become so bad it’s “apocalyptic” and that there is no possibility of meaningful humanitarian operations anymore, since aid could no longer be distributed: theguardian.com/world/2023/dec He says that diplomatic efforts to make the war less horrible for civilians “[do] not seem to have worked at all, and so the pace of destruction in the south is as relentless as we see in the north.” He describes how he “had a 10-point plan last week” but “there’s no 10-point plan any more because it’s dependent on a certain number of deconfliction institutions being safe for people to live in. They don’t exist.” His conclusion: “I can’t think of a better way to create a generation of anger and extremism than this.”

Maduro is taking it easy .. basically trying to move the western oil companies out.  Here is how things stand:

Maduro revealed a new map of Venezuela, incorporating the disputed Essequibo region with Guyana (in the bottom right corner).

He stated that this map would be immediately provided to all educational institutions.

Venezuela’s president also designated Essequibo as a “zone of integral defense” and proposed a three-month halt to oil operations.

A referendum supporting Venezuela’s claims to the oil-rich Essequibo territory took place on Sunday, with the majority of citizens voting for its annexation to Venezuela.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil stated that Brazil does not see the risk of an armed conflict between Venezuela and Guyana.

The combined West is dropping their toy Ukraine right into the toilet.  Like they say here where I live: sin vergüenza, i.e., shamelessly while Ukrainians are still being killed on front lines.

Germany is not an ally of Ukraine, said the head of the German Ministry of Defense Boris Pistorius.

“We are doing what we can. The same applies to almost all other allies and partners. But Germany is not an ally of Ukraine and, therefore, is not part of any alliance,” Pistorius said.

One cannot trust these people.   Let them fritter away into the dusts of history  – we will remember French cuisines and nothing much more – perhaps a German beer fest.  Sad!

A few more ‘allies’ changing their tune:  https://sputnikglobe.com/20231206/which-of-ukraines-erstwhile-allies-have-fled-sinking-ship-of-support-1115424965.html

US House passes a resolution that says that “anti-Zionism is antisemitism”, conflating a political ideology, rejected by many jews, with a religion:

Zionism = political ideology

Judaism = religion

Zionism is not equal to Judaism and Judaism is not equal to Zionism

(This is from people who cannot distinguish between men and women.)

I would like to see more details on this :

Russia, Iran FMs Sign Declaration

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sergey Lavrov signed a declaration on “Ways and Means of Countering, Mitigating and Compensating for the Negative Consequences of Unilateral Coercive Measures” in Moscow on Tuesday.

The Foreign Ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan are attending the meeting of Caspian littoral states in Moscow to begin what the Kremlin described as new regular dialog between the ministers.”

President Vladimir Putin to visit UAE, Saudi Arabia.  Peskov stated.  ” All of this will happen practically over 24 hours.”  From this, we can fairly assume that whatever the agenda items are, they have been agreed and confirmed.  It is only now to figure out why? this visit.

We have the WHY?

Presidential aide Ushakov spoke about details of Putin’s upcoming trip to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, as well as negotiations with the Iranian president:

▪️ The issue of the Russian special operation will be raised during the negotiations;

▪️ One of the topics that will be discussed is the connection of all these countries to BRICS;

▪️ The President will discuss the Middle East and energy with the leaders of the UAE and Saudi Arabia;

▪️ Moscow seeks a long-term ceasefire in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and a full exchange of prisoners and detainees;

▪️ There are no plans for joint press statements after the visits to the UAE and Saudi Arabia;

▪️A representative Russian delegation is traveling with Putin to the United Arab Emirates will include: Deputy Prime Minister Belousov, Industry and Trade Minister Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister Novak, Foreign Minister Lavrov, Central Bank Chairman Nabiullina, Roscosmos Director General Borisov, and Rosatom CEO Likhachev.

The Russian delegation is strong!

Western-based neoclassical economics is built on false maxims which completely ignore how the money supply is created… Read more »

Of course the West’s desire for a Final Solution to the “Palestinian problem” is not new.
