This peace mission is getting to be a bigger disaster as we go.

Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni, Comoran president Azali Assoumani and Republic of Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso pulled out of the mission hours before its departure on Thursday.

What it had going for it, is that the group represented a very fair representation of the various factions in the African Union.

Putin: Russia will not reduce its nuclear weapons stockpiles, despite NATO's desire

Putin on Nuclear Weapons:

‘We Have No Need To Push Nuclear Buttons’ – Putin

“Everybody expects us to start pushing these nuclear buttons, but we have no need to. Our adversary is failing on the frontline,” Russian President Putin said during the #SPIEF2023 plenary session.

“They understand they have a low chance of succeeding, that’s why they provoke us to retaliate in the hope of pointing a finger at us and saying: “look at how brutal they are, you can’t deal with them,” he added.

And on the sidelines:

“We have more such weapons than the NATO countries, they know about it. And all the time we are being persuaded to start negotiations on a reduction. Fuck them. This is our competitive advantage, “ Putin said.

The latest from Poland and Ukraine:

Jun 16

Mr Putin’s speech at SPIEF plenary session is now included in the SPIEF update page:  https://sovereignista.com/2023/06/15/spief23-is-on/

“The inherently ugly neocolonial international system has ceased to exist. On the contrary, the multipolar world order is strengthening. This is an inevitable process!” – Putin

Jun 16

So far in this day a lot is being said, but nothing of extreme consequence.

A five member African leader peace delegation is in Ukraine now and they immediately turned on the Air Raid Alerts in Kiev – it is theater, as there is nothing incoming.   Saturday the delegation will visit Russia.

More theater:

There was no missile attack on Kiev – in fact, there was nothing in the air.  Russia did not even do their now routine long-range strikes at all the last night.  Do these Ukrainians really think that Russia will do anything to put international delegations at risk?  Do they really think Russia was not fully informed of the arrangements of the delegation and where they would be when?

More theater:  This delegation was treated very badly in Poland.  The security contingent could not disembark the plane, luggage was messed with and so on, to the extent that the security head alleged that the Poles are putting the lives of Ramaphosa from South Africa and the other delegates at risk and alleged racism.

Statement from Ramaphosa’s Press Secretary:

“This was the time when the so-called explosion took place. I filmed a video from a hotel here in Kiev. It is very strange that we did not hear or see an explosion. There is clearly some kind of deliberate disinformation being spread here. As we expected, this mission never will be easy, but some obstacles are deeply disturbing, like the conversion you all received, and others are just funny, like this so-called explosion.

We were all puzzled when we were taken back to the hotel and we drove through the streets where people were living their usual way of life. This is very strange and in some ways is deliberate misinformation.”

There is a NATO summit today.  There is no change in tone and they’ve fallen back on As Long As It Takes.  They will continue to fight and provide Ukraine with everything they need, until Russia retreats.  I probably heard Rules-Based-International-Order five or six times.  I’ve listened to a short press conference by Defense Secretary Austin and Gen. Milley and someone else can follow up on the rest because there is no substance and the few questions taken were planted.  They should get an AI to plan their speeches, because for them, this is a media war and AI is excellent in the sphere.  Perhaps they should get actors to play their parts.  Are you getting the idea that even for television, this was extremely bad?  These people are playing out a TV scripted war.

Jun 15

The routine continues.

⚠️ The Russian Aerospace Forces tonight launched a strike by long-range precision air-based weapons against locations where strike drones are manufactured. All the assigned targets have been engaged. The goal of the strike has been achieved.

◽️ The Ukrainian Armed Forces have continued their attempts to conduct offensive operations in South Donetsk, Zaporozye, and Donetsk directions during the previous 24 hours.

Jun 14

The routine continues.   (Remember when this happened only every now and again?)

◽️ Last night, the Russian Armed Forces carried out long-range sea- and air-launched precision-guided group strikes on clusters of Ukrainian reserves and foreign mercenaries, as well as foreign-made ammunition, weaponry, and military hardware depots. All the assigned targets have been engaged. The goal of the strike has been achieved.

◽️ Over the past 24 hours, AFU units made unsuccessful attempts to launch an offensive in South Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Donetsk directions, continuing to suffer significant losses in manpower and hardware.

📊 In total, since 4 June 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost around 7,500 troops killed and wounded along the contact line, not counting military personnel killed by Russian long-range precision weapons and aviation deep inside Ukrainian territory.

This number is smaller than what I expected, and indeed counted from the daily MoD reports.  But the interesting note here, is that their number does not include the kia numbers from the regular strikes with long-range weapons.

China is on the peace path again.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has begun a four-day visit to China after expressing a readiness to discuss Israeli peace after arriving early Tuesday.  According to Palestinian media, Abbas is set to meet President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

Last week foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin called Abbas – who has officially visited Beijing four times before – an “old and good friend of the Chinese people” before adding that “China has always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights.”

June 14

Dmitry Medvedev writes:

“Two good morning thoughts

1. Yesterday the President of Russia spoke about the need to create a demilitarized (sanitary) zone for the security of our country. Given the hostile decisions to supply the Kiev regime with more and more long-range weapons, such a line should pass along the borders of Lvov (Polish Lemberg) in order to play a real defensive role. Then this will be the new safe borders of what used to be called “country 404″.

2. Based on the proven complicity of Western countries in undermining the Nord Streams, then we have no, even moral, restrictions left to refrain from destroying the cable communications of our enemies, laid along the ocean floor.”

India fails again to keep the G20 on task.  Take a look at the member states.  The controversial issues being discussed on globalsouth re committed states and fencesitter states again show up. The only two countries that stated that they do not accept India’s Chair Summary, or parts of it, was Russia and China. The rest of them caved! Argentina caved, South Africa caved, Turkey caved, Brazil caved, Saudi Arabia said nothing. I guess the only good task that India did, was to stop another visit by Zelenski.  We should be thankful for small mercies no?

We have another failure of consensus, with Ukraine being used as the crux or point of failure.  Oy Vey!

⚠️ The Russian Aerospace Forces tonight launched group strikes by long-range precision air-based weapons against locations where AFU operational reserves were amassed, as well as a foreign-made ammunition and weapons depot.

💥 All the assigned targets have been engaged. The goal of the strike has been achieved.

◽️ Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian troops continued to attempt to carry out an offensive in South Donetsk direction, as well as near Artyomovsk.  https://t.me/mod_russia_en/7854

Dedollarization and use of local currencies is continuing apace:  Egypt is in talks to use local currencies with India, China, and Russia

June 13

I have not personally verified this but there have been enough hints.  Specifically, Russia refuses to discuss a restart or a new Start type treaty, because they say NATO must take part as nuclear weapons are all over NATO countries.

US has secretly deployed about 150 nuclear weapons on air bases in Europe without any official announcement – International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICANW) coordinator Sanders-Zakre.

US nukes weapons are located at air bases in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey and Italy.

June 13

I don’t usually post explicit media on dead soldiers or the horrible gore of war.  This though, shows an Ukrainian soldier after being taken prisoner by Russian soldiers.  The compassion is notable.  There is no hatred.  The Ukrainian is shaking with fear.  Who is among us that cannot show compassion?  That does not mean we don’t understand the reasons for the war, but this gets you to understand the cost of the war.

The Great Reset arises from its grave:

June 12

Re the SMO. We all observe changes in the larger landscape. If you have not yet noted it, please note the article from Larry Johnson.

My view is we are on some edge, it may be the precipice, or it may be breakthrough but it looks like chickens are coming home to roost for the warmongers. The Ukies are fast running out of weapons, the European countries one after the other say they have no more to give and the rest of the world are standing fast – they will not supply weapons. This is seen very starkly in the LAC and in Africa.

As I contend that Zelenski has a meeting with a proverbial bus, so does Ray Mcgovern. “There are signs that this is an assumption that part of our government is ready to “put under the bus” Zelensky.” in a conversation with YouTube podcast host Stephen Gardner: “<…> The US military does not want to get involved in a nuclear exchange with Russia .”

We also have what is touted as the biggest NATO military exercise in history on June 12 to 23. A message of deterrence supposedly https://www.dw.com/en/nato-air-defender-23-to-be-biggest-exercise-ever/a-65872291

Changes incoming whilst the SMO continues unabated.

“💥 Last night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation employed long-range, sea-based precision weapons to engage the locations of AFU reserves. All the assigned targets have been engaged. The purpose of the strike has been achieved.

◽️ Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to attempt offensive actions in the South Donetsk direction.” https://t.me/mod_russia_en/7837

Good news from the Middle East

I cannot stress enough how much hope the complete and rapid changeover in the Middle East brought to the rest of the world.

June 12

1) We’re on a timeline waiting for Julian Assange to be extradited to the US as his final appeal in the UK system was turned down. There is strong action against this from a wide variety of groups and jounalists but what is left is simply forlorn hope. Lula has called for wide mobilization to stop the extradition and AMLO from Mexico has consistently worked against extradition. There are still apparently some legal recourse. RT has a piece: https://www.rt.com/news/577872-lula-assange-mobilize-defense/

2) And Twitter deleted the heartfelt honest discourse from Roger Waters.

The backlash is building and for the RoW, both of these are simply further indicators that we have to send the imperialists back to imperialandia and not allow this influence in our world.

Recalling that our Chinese Comrades required anal swags of their occidental guests, there may be a superficial similarity ‘tween the Polish display and the Chinese. What’s different?
