🔹 Latest western media .. TACO style .. rhetoric is ‘coordinate ship’s movements’, ‘organize safe passage’, ‘does not currently include navy escorts’. Project Freedom seems to sail on a strait of weasel words, SO FAR. Israel is ready with 2 squadrons of new warplanes. We Wait because Seeing is Believing in this case.

Wham Bam UAE:  (Things happen.  The UAE, on leaving OPEC forgot that Things Happen).

Seven leading OPEC+ countries (Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Oman, and Algeria) have decided to increase oil production in June by 188 thousand barrels per day (compared to May) – a statement from the organization.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Key takeaways from Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s statements to TV reporter Pavel Zarubin:

▪️ Russia would prefer to achieve its goals in Ukraine through a peace agreement but if Kiev is unwilling to do so, Moscow will pursue its objectives through the special military operation

▪️ Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump expressed similar assessments of the Kiev regime’s behavior in their recent phone call

▪️ Kiev’s attacks on Russian oil facilities may lead to a further rise in prices

▪️ The EU seeks to fuel a Russophobic campaign in order to mobilize its forces, which is increasing confrontation

▪️ Vladimir Putin will deliver an important address at the Victory Day parade on May 9

The punitive season has arrived.

Trump goes livid on Germany and promises that many more than 5,000 troops will be withdrawn from US bases in Germany as they did not help to open the Strait of Hormuz.  What he means is that he could not increase the size of the war on Iran to a bigger war with Europe taking part.  He has also increased Tariffs on the EU to 25% they are not complying with the trade deal.  Pure punitive season it is.   The plans are falling apart.  Spirit airlines has just fallen apart in the US, and this can be counted as real economic damage as a result of the war on Iran and the rise in the cost of Tariffs and fuels.  Wait for it .. there will be more.

Jordan just bombed into Syria, reason given ‘To prevent narcotics and weapons from reaching Jordanian territory’ — army statement

🔹🔹🔹🔹

My first number may be off here, but one or two.  We’ve seen from the US (various plus administration) that the Hormuz Strait blockade sent 27 vessels back (wherever they send them back to in order not to traverse the strait).  New information is out:  New maritime data shows that 81 Iranian or Iran-linked vessels have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite Washington’s claim of a naval blockade on Iran.  (From PressTV)

I said on a number of occasions – we will see a No War No Peace strategy, for as long as it holds.  I said on a number of occasions tha the blockade is swiss cheese or cheesecloth.

What I say now … the blockade will be broken vessel by vessel.  Iran uses Chinese satellite data.  Does China charge them for it … But of course, it is legal and legimate data and anyone can buy it.  (snigger snigger).

I said that the US is going to possibly try a do-over with a few fast fierce strikes – Big Bangs that Look Good!  Trump stumbled and accidentally let slip:   “On the way back from what we’ll do over uhh…. on the way back from Iran.”

Our problem  is not a USRael War on Iran.  Iran has that in hand.  Our problem is the economic fall-out.  Our problem is the ongoing genocide on Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The ‘ugly’ runs strong from the horses mouth:

Trump admits ‘we’re a PIRATE business’ stealing ships. ‘We took over the cargo, took over the oil’.  (Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!)

May 1

Moving to the end of Labor Day the smell of deep putrifying bizarre desperation of a falling empire is in the air.

Trump says that the US war on Iran has been ‘terminated’.  There is an issue of 60 days grace, and then the administration need congressional approval.  The 60 days apparently ‘paused’ during the ceasefire and there is a notification period and lots of games are being played with 60 days.  The congress as far as I can see, is into debating what 60 days mean.  What it does mean, is that the US can strike again, and seemingly the 60 days that ran out, will start again and they can do a do-over.  It will be a new 60 days.  But the blockade is apparently not part of the war, so, that will continue.     Perhaps, once this congress learns to count, we will know if the US is going to continue with what is reported in the media (which we cannot believe), which is a series of short and brutal strikes that are being planned.

Bessent talks about the Iranian leadership as ‘rats in a sewer pipe sitting in the dark’.

Nothing really happened with all this torrid talk.  Trump said to his press geese gaggle that he was briefed by CENTCOM Commander Gen. Bradley Cooper and one of the options presented was to ‘blast the hell out of Iran’ and ‘finish them forever’.  We hear of a new Wonder Weapon Hypersonic Missile called Dark Eagle that will most certainly save the day.    It is a bizarre story.  Hegseth in front of congress?  Well, that was bizarre as well.

Again Bizarre  – Fox news talking about Worker’s day and displaying the ‘communist countries’.

The Iranians keep on mocking and their fingers are on triggers and they are out on the streets in support of their leaders every evening.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Peace. Labour. May.

Happy May 1st — Spring and Labour Day

It was also known as International Workers’ Solidarity Day

A holiday with a past worth remembering.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

The fact that Iran doesn’t preemptively strike the US, Israel and its Gulf Arab allies at this juncture is beyond me.

There is no ceasefire—the US blockade is an act of war which nullifies any agreement that may have been in place.

Moreover, the social media posts of a commander in chief clearly signaling aggressive intent makes preemptive legal under Article 51 of the UN Charter, citing clearly established preemption precedence.

The United States is not only led by war mongers and war criminals. We are led by the most ignorant military leaders in history. Who believe their self-induced testosterone laced fantasies over the harsh fact-based truths of reality.

Not only will the US lose any future conflict with Iran. We will deserve to lose. Removing the Trump/Hegseth/Bessant/Rubio cabal is necessary for the survival of our Constitutional Republic.

This is what a Trump brokered ‘ceasefire’ looks like:

Zionist terrorist Airstrikes have, so far today targeted the following towns and villages in south Lebanon:

Nabatieh
Upper Nabatieh
Zawtar
Houmine El Faouqa
Dbine
Aabba
Borj El Shmali
Adchit
Zebdine
Adchit
Al Bazourieh
Arab Salim
Qana
Kfardounin
Kfarjouz
Al Majadel
Bastat

A widening map of fire, stretching across towns and villages, each name carrying lives, homes, and stories now caught under the shadow of terrorist Zionist bombardment.

The paperwork and legalities for passage through the Strait of Hormuz are being completed by Iran. One by one they are negotiating with countries for passage. ‘Indian ships can pass through Strait of Hormuz without restrictions’ — Iran’s Ambassador to India. ‘Passage of Indian ships has been completely secure, and this process will continue in the future’

Iran grants Russia exemption of all transit fees to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

Insurance companies are beginning to insure ships and cargo for the passage.  It is a complicated business.

Of the three US aircraft carriers hiding across the horizon, – USS Abraham Lincoln, – USS Gerald R. Ford and – USS George H.W. Bush – Poopy Gerry is on the way home where experts say it will be on a repair dock for a long time.

Will Schryver says:  Trump has painted himself into a “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” corner. Declare victory and leave? Everyone knows the score. Try to redeem the fail with new attacks? Run serious risk of losing even bigger, and still have to leave because you’ve got nothing left….

My bet is still that we are going to end up in a No kinetic war, No peace situation, (perhaps for a temporary period) and the US will continue with economic pressure for now.  I may be wrong.  It is in essence a war on multipolarism.

In preparation is a post on China’s new legislation.  Part of it is simple.  You take my ship, I take your business in China.

🔹According to the Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials, U.S. President Donald J. Trump has told his aids to prepare for an extended U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Per the report, President Trump sees pulling out of the conflict or resuming combat operations against Iran as far more risky than continuing to blockade vessels traveling to and from Iranian ports. This news follows reporting that the intelligence community was given direction to assess the risk of declaring a unilateral victory and pulling back from the conflict.

For now I believe (and I may be wrong) that we are moving into a phase of open piracy. US Navy harassed and boarded a ship they suspected to be headed for Iranian ports—but released it after finding out that they were wrong. The US Navy presence in waters 11.000km away from their shores continues to threaten worldwide shipping.

[Note, this is what I expected but we need more confirmation that No War No Peace and protracted economic war will be the decision of the US]

🔹Mali seems to be shaping up to perpetual and protracted war as well

🇲🇱 The spokesperson for Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM), Abu Hudheifah al-Bambari, also known as Bina Diarra, has announced the start of a total siege of Bamako, the capital of Mali. He warned civilians not to place themselves between JNIM forces and the Malian army, otherwise they themselves will be targeted.

‼️Today, images were released showing the leader of the Malian junta, Assimi Goïta, alongside the Russian ambassador in Bamako. Some believe these images are old and were broadcast to calm the people of Bamako. In any case, the situation in Mali remains tense, and the militants are clearly preparing for the next round of attacks.

Russian Armed forces say: “African Corps units continue to fulfill their objectives alongside the Malian Armed Forces and prosecute combat operations against terrorist forces.

🔹Cuba is still in the crosshairs of the US. US Senate blocks a CKS resolution limiting Trump military action on Cuba without Congress approval — FAILS 51-47

The old trope, that China stole US IP and that is what gave China a step up economically, is broken, with the MANUS case. MANUS, a Chinese IT company, called the 2nd DeepSeek moment, was purchased by META, and soon after, taken off-shore and they left with it. Just a few months after the META investment, Manus relocated its headquarters to Singapore in July, laid off dozens of China-based staff – retaining only core technical personnel – and completely ceased operations and services in the Chinese mainland. The main point of criticism is that Manus, an AI company developed with the support of Chinese engineers and infrastructure, suddenly “cut ties” with Chinese elements after receiving US investment.

China is in the process of legally cancelling this sale. https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202604/1359889.shtml

With the sanctions on China’s teapot refinery and the Manus case, and China’s regulatory structure of ‘opening up’, china is considered the piggy bank of the West now, but, it won’t last.

The War on Iran – OPEC shrinks. The UAE announced their withdrawal from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and OPEC+ as of May 1st.

By exiting OPEC, the United Arab Emirates is no longer bound by production quotas and can produce and export as much oil as it wants.

Saudi media: ‘The UAE’s decision is regrettable and irresponsible, and will lead to Saudi Arabia reviewing its own oil policies’

Social media and commentators immediately announced the withdrawal as a US ‘finagle’ trying to reduce the oil price.  I think that is shallow commentary but we have a few days to make sense of this.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Key takeaways from statements by Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov, April 28:

➡️Russian President Vladimir Putin condemns all forms of violence and attacks on world leaders, Peskov said, commenting on the attempt on Trump’s life

➡️The Kremlin does not comment on the Ukraine-Israel grain dispute: “Let the Kiev regime sort it out with Israel, and Israel – with the Kiev regime”

➡️Measures to eliminate the consequences of the UAV attack on Tuapse are being taken at an appropriate level

➡️Putin will hold a meeting on security arrangements for the upcoming elections

➡️The Kremlin will report on a Putin – Trump call if it takes place

➡️Intensive efforts are underway to prevent strikes by the Kiev regime on Russian territory

➡️Any information about strike impact locations is classified and will not be disclosed publicly

➡️Russia considers it important for the situation in Mali to return to a peaceful and stable course as soon as possible

➡️Victory Day parade on May 9 will take place as planned

Handala also claims to have sent direct WhatsApp messages to Marines, urging them to say their final goodbyes.

Nezavisimaya Gazeta:
War in Mali challenges Russia’s Africa Corps

Intense battles between the alliance of anti-government groups and the central government’s army erupted in Mali. Even as the West African nation raised its alert levels and tightened security at checkpoints, some cities remained under militants’ control on April 27. The offensive, which brought local jihadists and Tuareg separatists together, has challenged the Russian Africa Corps, operating there since 2025. Participants in the offensive offered the Russian PMC immunity in exchange for neutrality.

The escalation resulted from the alliance between Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen (JNIM), a jihadist organization designated as a terrorist group and banned in Russia, and the Tuareg separatist Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The two forces publicly agreed to collaborate for the first time ever. “We are collaborating with JNIM,” a FLA commander told Le Monde. The attackers are seeking “to liberate the population from the Mali authorities and their Russian partners,” he added. “We want to overthrow the government in Bamako,” the commander explained.

Russian International Affairs Council expert Kirill Semyonov recalled in an interview with Nezavisimaya Gazeta that FLA and JNIM had joined forces in alliances of convenience before. “Both have Tuaregs as their members, and there are connections.
The specifics of the conflict have pushed the two groups closer together for the common goal of forming a state that would be independent from the central government. They share one project and common interests,” the expert said. FLA and JNIM can adapt to each other in their vision of a post-conflict settlement, he added.

“Syria has set an example here. Its current government showed: if you have to win a war, you need to be more flexible and adaptive to modern realities,” Semyonov maintained. According to him, the situation in Mali has been challenging for the Africa Corps from the start. “Risks have always been high over there. Originally, the Africa Corps tried to solve the problem using a smaller force, but now it will have to address the issue, using a larger force and investment,” he concluded.

Peskov is not saying Trump is lying. He is saying that if Trump is not lying, the Kremlin will report it.

The Kremlin always discloses information about the contacts between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, Dmitry Peskov said, commenting on Trump’s statements about ongoing negotiations with the Russian president on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

“We provide relevant reports, and my colleague Ushakov holds briefings, informing you about the phone calls that have taken place.”

I expect action on these sanctions. As China is quietly and without fanfare working on the issues around the Panama Canal where the rights given to them were legally turned around via US pressure on Panama and we hardly see the pushback, so we will not see the pushback on this before we see the resultant effect. It will not be symmetrical. As we see Russia losing their infinite patience, so China is losing patience. Trump will probably still visit China, but I truly do not want to be him during such a visit. There will be pomp and circumstance as a summit deserves but the Chinese will insult him in such a fine manner, that we will consider it a joy to observe.

Beijing’s warning to Washington: stop unilateral sanctions against Chinese companies

🔹 Lin Jian, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, criticized the recent US sanctions against a Chinese refinery under the pretext of connection with Iran, and asked Washington to end the “wrong approach” of imposing sanctions and extraterritorial jurisdiction.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Karma is a deathly foe.  The price of Washington’s warmongering is being paid by its own people.

NBC reports that American shrimp fishermen are being forced out of work as fuel prices skyrocket due to the war with Iran.  I am sorry, as these people do very hard work.  If you shoot fishermen in the Caribbean and this happens to your own fishermen (and farmers), one can only think that a very fast Karma or natural justice is in play.  (I have respect for fishermen and for farmers and cannot revel in hate, gloat or remain in schadenfreude.)

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Mr. Abbas Araghchi from Russia:

It had been some time since meetings with Russia had taken place. We used the current opportunity to hold consultations with our Russian friends regarding developments related to the war. This coordination will be important.

During the trip to Pakistan, it was necessary to review the latest situation. Developments had taken place in the negotiations, and it was necessary to hold consultations there regarding the current status. It was a very productive visit. We reviewed what had happened and under what conditions negotiations could continue.

We must be able, after 40 days of heroic resistance by the people of Iran, to secure the rights of the nation and the interests of the country. Productive consultations were carried out during the Pakistan trip.

God willing, the trip to Oman will lead to greater expansion in relations with neighbors, especially in the southern regions of the Persian Gulf, and help resolve the problems that have emerged.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, consultations with Oman were also necessary. In this matter, we share many common views with Oman, and it was agreed that discussions would continue at the expert level.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

There is a need for understanding social media psychology. Accounts are not always authorities, decision-makers, insiders, or sound sources of judgment; they are often there simply to express themselves. Take them as they are, do not use them for serious processing, and do not present them as the opinion of the masses.  My favorite Yemeni cartoonist:

Cartoon by Yemeni artist Kamal Sharaf on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting incident

So, everyone’s attention is now drawn away from the expected imminent new attack from the US on Iran.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

This is a summary of the notes passed on from Iran to Pakistani mediators:

1. Emphasis on the 10 conditions & full commitment to them.

2. Readiness for rational & fair negotiation.

3. US has no right to set red lines for talks.

4. Iran will not surrender to US excesses (including no naval blockade)

5. The need for Pakistan’s neutrality

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Major changes are in process on or around the internet.  Sputnik had this piece up, but it is way bigger than this.  Only one example, Mr Putin said that Russia needs an ‘internal internet’, that cannot go down if the internet goes down in the world.

How can the Global South defend its digital sovereignty from Western neocolonialism

Iran has given the world an example of how a country can resist Western encroachment on its sovereignty in the digital space, Argentinian foreign relations expert Tadeo Casteglione tells Sputnik.

During the mass riots that preceded the US-Israeli attack, Iranian authorities restricted the use of foreign-based digital platforms and introduced a domestic ecosystem, a national digital platform.

🇨🇳 China followed a similar path as, despite not being cut off from the Internet, it possesses its own intranet where the use of apps and data is controlled by the Chinese.

A similar approach is being developed in Russia since 2022, after the West tried to capitalize on its apparent lack of hardware and software needed to maintain digital infrastructure.

👉 Other countries, like Turkiye, also seek their own solutions to this problem.

While the alternative is unlikely to be implemented in the near future, Casteglione insists that there is a need of clear and consistent rules that would protect not just people but national sovereignty for the good of all.

What makes this painful is that each time a country or state takes a step away from the internet as current western, the technology changes, and in my view we are seeding a bifurcation in technology that makes it very difficult to keep track with the world at large.   The technical confusion and breakdown is a mirror image of the chaos generally in our world.  It is not only oil.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Today from Military Summary:  🇷🇺 Key points from the latest briefing of the Russian Ministry of Defence: over the past 24 hours, Russian air defence systems shot down 10 guided aerial bombs and 418 fixed-wing UAVs belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). In addition, the army struck energy and transport infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. Furthermore, AFU losses over the past day across all sectors of the special military operation amounted to approximately 1,300 servicemen.

🔹🔹🔹🔹

Question of the day ..

Summary:  On the 57th day of the US-Israeli war on Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to Islamabad for regional coordination, and denied U.S. claims that negotiations were underway, as American envoys prepared to arrive without confirmed talks. Despite an extended Israel–Lebanon ceasefire, Israeli strikes in Southern Lebanon continued, while severe energy disruptions and restricted shipping flows signaled deepening global economic fallout.

A possibility:  Will the expected attack on Iran fizzle out, and will the results of the war be decided in the Strait of Hormuz only?  (Not talking about the economics fall-out.)
