Norman was a close friend of German Reichsbank Hjalmar Schacht and became godfather to one of his grandchildren. Both of them were members of the Anglo-German Fellowship, which existed in 1935-1939 and was accused of having links with the Nazis. ParticipantMinding the very fine short article posted at GS, some little time ago, in the matter of the Rectification of Names, and with an eye to Haushofer (above) and Klemperer’s Lingua Tertii Imperii: Notizbuch eines Philologen (1947), the videos below may be illuminating. Particularly so as we see in the nazi resurgence of to-day manifestations which are obviously characteristic. The language, and the suppression of language, the cliches, the cues, the implications, and especially the overt pseudo-legal censorship – the all betray the nazi agenda and evil character.

According to the history I’ve read in the subject, which is pretty substantial, it’s more or less accurate., even though it’s too slick. The audio quality tells us it’s probably post-war revisionist. Still, it’s illustrative, and sorta fun as story.
