“I spent 4.5 hours with President Trump on Friday. Here’s what I think will happen next. If this deal fails, President Trump is gonna take the Strait of Hormuz over by force. We’ll charge a fee for all those who go through to pay for the operation … if Iran contests control of the Strait of Hormuz by the United States we’ll obliterate them.”

The clown gang should have instituted fuel rationing long ago… Gunner Johnson claims to-day (Nima and pals ) that the the USAF has no jet fuel reserves…and it’s down to diesel for transport in CONUS, or kero for thirsty airplanes.

Used to sense axial position, and to control or correct roll, pitch, yaw… Basically a spinning wheel fixed in a gimbal. a small electric motor keeps it going. On a rotating body, such as earth, special gyros can be used to find physical axial north, thus a gyro-compass. But for decades now also there are “laser ring gyros”. These work by dividing a pulse of light in twain, both enter an optic coil at the same time at near the speed of light. There are two such coils. They are precisely the same length. Wound one in the other. The coils are wound with miles of optic fiber, and one is wound “clock-wise, the other “counter-clock-wise. A pair of photo-detector transistors reside at the optic fiber coil ends. Because of limits to the speed of light, relativity (Einstein) principle, if they both conduct at the same time, that’s if the pair of slugs of light arrive simultaneously there has been no axial rotation. If they don’t, the time difference is calculated and gives degrees of rotation since the previous pulse pair. Integrating this over time (there’s a very fast and super accurate clock and the pulses fire at a high repetition rate)  integrating the change data can give axial acceleration. Three laser ring gyros, one at yaw, one at pitch, one at roll axis feed into a system that includes accelerometers  – forming an inertial positioning system… this is programmed with the starting position. It then records motion vectors and indicates the new position. Typically errors add up, and a GPS input provides corrections. Ships most all have INS and GPS….they probably use laser ring gyros. But the early ones probably used three physical gyroscopes spinning … ahem not sure. In machines that have rapid acceleration and serious vibration, such as rockets… the laser ring gyro is essential, as being solid state the device remains functional under conditions that would destroy a physical device. The nazi V2 rocket used of course the physical type…the LRG was developed for rockets during the so-called cold war. They had to wait for rapid photo-transistors to be developed, and electronic computers small enough, light enough, rugged enough, to integrate the data. In the classical ICBM that follows a simi ballistic the INS correction is made by automatic celestial navigation…sights on stars…near apogee. In Oreshnik I speculate that the celestial fix and, due to the plasma (which conducts) cloud surrounding the missile, the GPS fix corrections are not feasible. The weapon depends, ahbetcha, entirely on INS… I’ve thought about the positioning system in hypersonic machines quite a bit…I can’t see any other way for the machine to know where it’s going but a very sexy INS. Doctor professor Postol would, naturally, be able to inform the matter in greater detail.
