weirdest phone call in my life…ever. rushing, on my way for an appointment for a medical procedure, there’s a call on my landline. ordinarily i’d ignore it, but medical screw ups are now routine in canada. so i pick up, distracted, multitasking:
”am i speaking to emersonreturn.”
“where are you calling from, you sound like you’re calling from mumbai!”
“yes, we are calling from mumbai. are we speaking to emersonreturn?”
“so why are you calling me? i’m in hurry.”
“are you pakistani?”
“no! i’m not pakistani—who are you?!!?”
“we are looking for people to kill pakistanis!”
canaduh. weirder & weirder.
