I voted for Trump in 2016 … hoping he would turn America away from the cliff I believed we were headed for … his first term proved to me that my ‘hope’ was an illusion… continuing to observe his actions during Biden’s term gave me time to grieve… in private, not in public as one in the spotlight almost 24/7, as Scott has been. Not making excuses – just suggesting.
An anecdote: My cousin picked me up and took me to the coast for my birthday recently … to visit family, some of whom I had not seen for quite a few years. As it happened I was with my niece and her husband on the 13th when israel attacked Iran … niece pays very little attention to politics (upsets her too much) while her hubby has always enjoyed visits and discussions with me (the family matriarch who is known for her lifelong political activities and tolerated for same as she is now an ol’ lady!). To my surprise nephew spewed out “Yes I am disappointed in Trump, I was conned… but I am having difficulty with accepting it and I can’t talk about” … the weekend continued with birthday celebration and love and affection … void of any discussion of war or Trump.
Kubler-ross grief cycle is not linear imho … and grief is experienced over a variety of deaths/endings … as we know. My observation is that Scott may be experiencing the death of his ‘country’ as well as the illusion of what he thought was his country … which includes the death of his identity … as a marine, as a patriot… the Trump ‘illusion’ is small potatoes compared to …

🇷🇺⚡️🇺🇦Last night, the Russian Armed Forces launched powerful combined strikes on military targets in 13 regions of Ukraine. They used 322 attack drones, which took the Kiev regime’s breath away. Ukrainian media, as usual, report “292 downed” drones – but the destruction on the ground says otherwise.
🚨The Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Rivne and Zhitomir regions were hit . Ukrainian facilities in Starokostiantyniv and Krasilov suffered particularly serious losses – it was there, according to monitoring data, that key targets were eliminated.
❌ An oil depot in Chuguev was successfully hit: a powerful fire broke out at the site. The hit on the oil refinery is confirmed by fire maps.
The Russian Armed Forces continue to methodically destroy the infrastructure that provides weapons and logistics to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
