When the hunger for music and sound becomes so acute

that you want to go and lie in the middle of them and take in every little part
    with all of you
    .. all of it

and then, drift back to earth

Yes, but what I find interesting is that no agreement says clearly oil shall be sold in US dollars.  That seems to be the thing that is confusing here.  It has the researchers busy, looking for a clause like that.  If that does not exist, well, the legal ramifications are crazy making.  But I’ll wait for the others to research.

Right .. we’re going to have to be careful as the news is simply doubling and tripling in bad standard.

The Iranian thing … the western sources all talk about ‘enrichment’.  Iran talks about production, which of course is capacity.  In addition, Trump walked out of this deal and Iran then increased their production – this is years ago and now the west is trying to step on their toes again.

    Old stories, recycled.

OK, here is the oil deal – with more reality.

Developments to dethrone petrodollar already underway – experts

Saudi Arabia has joined digital currency system mBridge as a participant along with the central banks of Thailand, Hong Kong, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for instant cross border payments.

OK, that is accurate of course.

Meanwhile, Riyadh is rumored to have not extended the “petrodollar deal” with the US. The developments send a strong signal to the petrodollar, Sputnik’s pundits say.

Look at “petrodollar deal” in scare quotes …

“These two significant developments serve one strategic purpose which is granting Saudi Arabia flexibility in its future dollar-based oil trade transactions,” Dr Mamdouh G. Salameh, an international oil economist and a global energy expert, tells Sputnik.

The “petrodollar deal” under which Saudi Arabia (and later other OPEC members) agreed to sell oil exclusively in dollars was struck in 1974, several years after the Nixon administration ended the US dollar’s convertibility to gold. As a result, the greenback became “pegged” to oil. If Riyadh withdraws from this arrangement, other Arab countries will most likely follow suit, according to Salameh.

Did you know that the dollar is pegged to oil?

Saudi Arabia joining the mBridge wholesales instant payment platform will facilitate the de-dollarization of oil trade, according to Faisal Alshammeri, political analyst and a columnist for Makkah NewsPaper and Arab News.

OK, that is accurate of course.

“Saudi Arabia will accept payments for its oil in non-dollar currencies,” Alshammeri tells Sputnik. “This will encourage more countries to trade among themselves without using the dollars. America had to accept this new economic fact.”

The pundit noted that Saudi Arabia is guided by pragmatism in the first place, as negative economic developments in the US harm businesses all over the globe and undermine consumers’ trust in the dollar.

OK, so here is what is important and what we should retain for future … Now, the dollar is pegged to oil.  Once the Saudi’s join mBridge, the dollar price is not pegged to oil any longer.  The agreement that they speak about, did not determine price or anything, but determined the fact of a peg.  I would hate to see that transaction as it probably is worse than the gold fix.  Saudi now can accept the currency and the price that they agree for selling oil, and that will cycle through, so that oil becomes a non-controlled commodity but a market based commodity.  Good or Bad?  I cannot at the moment think of that .. but must check with the Col, and also another friend that knows these things.

    This one is also questionable.

Iran has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency that it will ramp up its nuclear enrichment

According to an official letter from Iran to the IAEA, the Islamic Republic will install hundreds of additional centrifuges in both the Natanz and Fordow nuclear facilities.

So, this is an old story that is being recycled in the hopes of making war with Iran.  So CNN says ..

    CNN  —
“Iran has informed the international nuclear watchdog that it intends to massively ramp up its levels of uranium enrichment following an apparent attack on a nuclear site in the country over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Iran’s deputy foreign minister and a top nuclear negotiator Abbas Araghchi told state-run Press TV that the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA) had been informed of Tehran’s decision to ramp up enrichment to 60% purity, a big step up from the current 20% purity levels.

The decision pushes Iran closer to reaching the 90% enrichment level that is considered weapons-grade. Iran has continually denied it intends to assemble nuclear weapons.”

Iran has been on 60% enrichment for a long time, more than a year or two and the 90% is the scary bugbear that is recycled and thrown out there every few months.

There is a tremendous amount of reclycling of news out just now … a lot of covering up happening .. Russian ships docked in Cuba .. Russia saying .. OK, you wanna war, bring it on.  China calling the hegemon irresponsible and the news gets recycled to hide what cannot be seen.

That is why I see it, because it is widespread.

I’m working on one now, that caught me I think … “I confirm that we have reached a political agreement to provide additional financial assistance to Ukraine of about $50 billion by the end of the year through a loan mechanism that will use proftis from Russian assets frozen in our jurisdictions to repay them.”

Earlier I reported that they won’t take the money … Chaos my friend.

There is no credible sourcing for this allegation anywhere.  There are some hot researchers on it, and there is nothing.  There is an agreement, which I’ve read and there is nothing in there.   If they had an ‘agreement’ it was spoken and also it just flowed that way and in time became set in stone.

It’s a shaggy dog story – put out by the gold bugs – and a bunch of oil bugs.

We gotto wait.   We’re gonna see bunches of this kind of thing roll out.  I know you know.

    AHH and all …

The Cyrus Janssen video, this one:
Saudi Arabia Just Shocked the Dollar! Future with BRICS and China

Is mostly nonsence. The guy is not very reliable in the China circles and please show me the agreement of 50 years that he talks about. This comes from a falsified BRICS News column, that is invariably wrong – I have no idea whether it is deliberate or not, but it is active and spreads wrong information. https://x.com/BRICSinfo

Cyrus is an ‘advertiser’, a professional advertiser, so, conclude there. He says whatever the one who pays him wants him to say.

She just lost her seat .. with the overall rout of the ANC.  She was ranked 86th on the ANC’s national parliamentary list and the ANC only winning 73 national list seats.  Exactly how it works I don’t know but perhaps they will appoint her in some special position.  I hope so, she surely has a lot of miles under her now.

Very good overview that!  Thanks manderson.  Lets see now .. we have seven days and and there are seven days left to find a solution.  I don’t see anything real yet.  The one thing that I am sad about is that the previous foreign affairs minister, or rather the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor has lost her seat.  I liked her.  Perhaps they re-appoint her – for the sake of BRICS.

India got their coalition sorted in hours after the final result.  But I don’t think this is all bad for South Africa.  They are re-examining almost everything.

I’m also beginning to send general Africa threads in the main forum to your thread here … thanks!

But today, the Zulus are threatening a rampage.  https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2024-06-08-as-anc-opens-door-to-gnu-talks-kzn-on-tenterhooks-after-zumas-mk-party-sweeps-polls/

None of that. She has no contact with a local Jewish community. My last name is French and the closest contact that I have, is that I was there once during a student tour and I like the wine, the bread and the food.

Sheinbaum .. OK, from the Spanish, they use two last names. The first one being the mother’s family, and the second one the father’s family. Most of us know that Jewishness is passed on matrilineally.. i.e., the female line.

So Sheinbaum is using her father’s family last name .. If she used her mother’s last name, which some people do, nobody would have said anything and she would have been known as

    Claudia Pardo.

I want to remind you how badly Lula (Brazil) was attacked by the right wing, Brazilian but mostly US. Think if the same thing is not happening here?

From the Max Blumenthal and Aron Mate groupings.

    William Peynsaert
    @Gettingcontext
    – killing a lot of people and pulling out four of your prisoners is way cooler and morale boosting than getting them in a prisoner exchange, at least if your country needs to regularly see blood flowing like the Aztecs and the Romans to feel entertained. It doesn’t even matter that this tactic endangers the lives of your other prisoners, because what’s the point for Hamas to bother keeping them alive? Israel has made it clear they have no value in prisoner exchange deals
    – the public will now soon discover that the four prisoners were fed and had no metal rods forced up their anus. None needed amputations from being chained too tightly for too long. The IDF likes to do that, specifically to Palestinian medical staff
    – claiming that Hamas takes over the aid trucks now becomes a silly allegation, because we now know Hamas better take a good look at all aid coming in because there could be American special forces hiding inside
    – this is going to be a nauseatingly pathos filled Hollywood movie, with intros showing endearing details about their lives prior to their capture making sure you get to make an emotional bond with each prisoner. No such movie will be made about the family of the child we all saw burned and decapitated or about any other nameless Palestinian we saw the intestines, bones, brain matter of in the free anatomy classes Israel has been serving up for eight months including today
