On Wednesday, the sky of the Yemeni capital witnessed a new phenomenon, marking the first of its kind since the onset of confrontations with American forces nearly a year ago.

Activists on social media circulated videos of thermal balloons launched by American aircraft in an attempt to evade a Yemeni surface-to-air missile. The footage captures the moment the Yemeni missile approaches the aircraft.

Thermal balloons are used to confuse advanced air defense missiles.

This is the first time American forces have utilized such a measure since the beginning of the war in Yemen in January 2024.

The deployment of thermal balloons came just a day after the US acknowledged that Yemen had shot down an F-18 fighter jet.

The release of thermal balloons during the American attempt to attack the capital underscores the reality that the American aircraft was downed by air defenses and reveals the level of fear among American pilots regarding Yemeni defenses.

This all may be the reason for Hegseth’s bile …
