    I’ve seen no details yet, but ship-spotters have reported the USS Fraidy Abe (CVN-72), USS Teddy Bear (CVN-71), and USS Timid Vinny (CVN-70) left their respective home ports in recent days.

    I’m especially surprised to hear the Timid Vinny is at sea again after such a short stay at home since its last deployment.

    The Timid Vinny and the Fraidy Abe both carry a squadron (10 aircraft) of F-35Cs — but it is extremely hard to keep them combat-capable for more than a few sorties at sea.

    In any case, all these carriers are based on the US west coast, so if they ARE deploying combat-capable, it can only mean they’re headed back to the Iran theater — because it is unthinkable they intend to menace the Chinese.

    So we’ll probably see the USS Uncle Chester (CVN-68) head home soon from its uneventful final cruise.

    The Tianxia of Emperor Xi that he mentions which I had said was “all under Heaven” or here “everything under heaven” is the same underlining theme of Zhang Yimou’s movie “Hero (2002)” which I recommend watching in full. Billed as martial arts extravaganza, it is really much more, and really cinematic poetry and discourse on philosophy.
