A preliminary analysis of the Houthi attack on Galaxy LeaderBy now, most of the world is aware of the seizure of the Israeli owned cargo ship “Galaxy Leader” by Houthi forces. However, the mainstream media has kept largely silent on just how audacious this attack was. Most notably, it seems that there is no mention of exactly where the Galaxy Leader was taken.
The reason for this is likely a simple one. It would make the very wealthy Kingdom of Saudi Arabia look bad, a situation their armies of well paid lobbyists will do anything to avoid. However, a quick perusal of open source ship tracking tools shows us the truth that the Kingdom’s propagandists cannot hide.
Galaxy Leader was well within Saudi Arabian waters when it was taken. As we can see, the ship was mere miles from Jeddah, the second largest and busiest port in the entire Arab world. The port of Jeddah is over 500 miles inside Saudi territory, the nearest Yemeni port is located in Midi, a ten hour journey by car. The transponders in ships update on a scale of minutes, and the crew would never switch it off out of their own free will. This means that the location shown here is accurate within a few miles.
A further analysis of this makes the situation look even worse for Saudi. This is where the ship was located when it’s transponder was switched off, meaning where it was when the Houthis had fully captured and secured the bridge. In all likleihood, Houthi forces had chased Galaxy Leader for some time. The clearest indication of this is from the recently released video showing the operation. In it, we can see the Houthis are using a Russian Mil Mi-8 Helicopter, which has a range of 370 miles. This means that the helicopter must have been launched from a ship, as it is not capable of reaching the Galaxy Leader from Yemeni territory.
From all the evidence available, this attack represents not just a triumph of the Houthi forces, but a complete failure of the Saudi Arabian military. How do you penetrate five hundred miles into Saudi territory in the middle of a major international shipping lane and almost within visual distance of the largest port in the Red Sea and yet provoke no response from the Saudi military?
The military budget of the KSA is estimated at around 69 billion dollars, of that, 54 billion is provided by the US as military aid anually, along with extensive training from both the US and it’s NATO allies. Saudi Arabia operates the largest air force and navy inside the region, with one of it’s fleets stationed at the King Faisal Naval base in nearby Jeddah. The western fleet even maintains a special martitime security force designed to prevent piracy, and it has spent years operating in the region in cooperation with NATO forces, including the US Navy.
The alliance even provides the repressive and genocidal Saudi regime with special forces “advisors”, under the command of the King himself for the purpose of “internal security.” None of this had any effect, and the Houthis managed to sieze this ship without firing a shot.
Looking at all of this, the failure of Saudi Arabia is once again the failure of NATO. The alliance has been weakened from decades of colonial wars and is incapable of doing anything beyond massacring civilians and bombing weddings, while at the same time decades of corruption inside the Military Industrial Complex mean NATO’s vaunted wunderwaffe are little more than overpriced, fragile toys.
Once again, Houthi forces armed with little more than courage have defeated the paper tigers of the Saudi military and it’s NATO backers. As more information becomes available, we will continue to update this story.

⭕ I’m reposting a comment (below) that was made on one of my posts this week as I think this comrade describes very well the phenomena of the way quantity transforms into quality.Many of us have been campaigning on the issue of Palestine for decades. We have told the same truths that are now accepted everywhere and been received with deaf ears, blank looks and silence at best, and with lies, slanders and vilification at worst.
Yet in the end the truth will out.
The forces that have led us to this moment are many and multidimentional. They include the Iraq war, the 2008 and 2020 economic crashes. Brexit. Russiagate. Austerity. Inflation. Media lies. Imperialist superexploitation. The rampant drive to war. The deepening of every contradiction of the system. The desperate poverty of the people.
And also the hope and inspiration that are coming to the people of the oppressed world every time they see evidence of the WEAKENING of the US-led imperialist bloc. They cannot win their sanctions wars. They cannot successfully occupy any country. They cannot defeat Russia in Ukraine. They could not reverse the popular uprisings in west Africa. They could not suppress the Palestinian resistance.
All these currents are converging to create the tsunami of popular opinion that is rising up today in support of Palestine. Even imperialist media and politicians are being forced to retreat in the face of its strength, for if they do not they will be utterly discredited.
Times are changing and the revolutionary wave is building. We are indeed entering a new era in the development of our class struggle, and the coming battles will be decisive.

Cue a Karen telling me how me sharing stuff on MY fb timeline could mean her safe, precious children could see them. Er…what? I told her to do one, and the predictable fake tears and victim act ensued. Worse still, an Ishelli acquaintance became angered by my outrageous exposure of Ishelli murders, and started accusing me of … antisemitism. Better yet, two other acquaintances, friends of the Ishelli, also joined in. I was told how I’m a despicable human being. They all unfriended me and loudly wailed in public on their timelines about antisemitic behaviour. It helps further that I’m from the global south….lol, the dreaded scourge of my melanated self and audacious gob! 🤣🤣 I had to zip it after that. I still shared stuff, attended demonstrations, but never again did I discuss Palestine in the presence of anyone I actually knew in real life. Fast forward to 2023 and a tsunami of ‘aNti sEmiTisM’ strikes, and keeps striking. It’s like a rubberband tsunami, reoccuring second after second. The hand of fate is gloriously indifferent to anyone or anything. Timing is really everything. For years I knew, hundreds of thousands in the UK knew, many many hundreds of millions globally knew. However, the truth was silenced, ignored, punished and easily disposed of by Zs. But now? The tsunami is everywhere. How do Zs undo it? The more they try, the bigger the marches, the more the social media content, the louder the disagreement. Palestine is like an ocean-sized dam of truth and history, and now it’s flooding this world. At last. It is the place where all the tears of all the Palestinians, and all the brutally colonised and oppressed people from all over the world, flowed into and collected. It ties into the very core of the monstrous and criminal empire that long tramples upon humanity. People are all awash in this never-resting tsunami of revelations and truth. They’re grabbing onto anything they can find to stay sane, stay afloat. Even these debris simply tell more truths. Today I woke to see that people are reading Bin Laden’s letter to America. WTF. Never saw that coming. I’m seeing videos of Palestine from ages ago that simply weren’t on Youtube a decade or more ago.
