Either way, such defeatist language was not necessary.

“… We have three crises in which the United States is struggling to restore its hegemony: the Ukraine crisis, the Taiwan crisis, and the Middle East crisis.

In the Middle East, the United States is in the most disastrous situation. Their plan for a final reconciliation between Israel and the Arab regimes, with the US as the sole mediator, was thwarted by Hamas.
