Russian Defence Ministry on the progress of the special military operation (27 September–3 October 2025)

❗️ At night, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation carried out a massive strike with long-range, ground-, air-, and sea-based high-precision weapons as well as with unmanned aerial vehicles against enterprises of the Ukrainian defence industry enterprises and the facilities of the gas and energy infrastructure that maintained their work.

✅ The goal of the strike has been achieved. All the assigned targets have been engaged.

US brushes off Chinese warning to Hong Kong consul general

The US State Department on Thursday brushed off a statement from the senior Chinese diplomat in Hong Kong warning the recently appointed US consul general there not to interfere in the affairs of the Chinese-ruled city.

“US diplomats represent our nation and are charged with advancing US interests globally, which is standard practice for diplomats around the world including in Hong Kong,” a senior State Department official said in a statement in response to the remarks about the consul-general, Julie Eadeh.

Cui Jianchun, China’s top diplomat in Hong Kong, issued a statement earlier on Thursday, saying he met Eadeh on Tuesday “to lodge solemn representations on her conducts since she assumed duties.”

It said Cui explicitly stated the “Four Don’ts” requirements, “namely don’t meet the people who the CG shouldn’t meet with, don’t collude with anti-China forces, don’t instigate, assist, abet or fund any activities that undermine stability in Hong Kong, don’t interfere with national security cases in Hong Kong.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry has dismissed French President Emmanuel Macron’s claims about detaining a so-called “shadow fleet” tanker as a diversion from France’s deepening economic woes.

The term “shadow fleet” is an EU fabrication used to justify blatant violations of international law, the ministry says.

The ministry has criticized Macron for providing no clear evidence of wrongdoing by the crew or justification for the investigation.

Flotilla – Protests have erupted across European cities following Israel’s interception of vessels from the Sumud Flotilla and the activists on board – Brussels, Berlin, Italy, Turkey, London, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco – The main union announced a general strike in Italy, President Petro tossed out the Israeli mission in Colombia on the spot and cancelled free trade agreements.

The boat that made it to Gaza coastal waters was also detained. The IDF sprayed the activists on their boats with skunk water and reports of sea mines in the water around the boats were received. All flotilla boats have now been detained.

On 2 October, the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow on 17 January 2025, officially enters into force.

They called the former head of USAID and ex-U.S. ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power, pretending to be the former Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko.

During the conversation with the Russian pranksters, Power placed particular emphasis on the cessation of budgetary support for Ukraine. There are still many reports of war planes, refuelling tankers, and heavy planes going toward bases in Europe for what people say is preparation for another war with Iran.  In the meantime, after Bibi Netanyahu’s forced apology to Qatar, Trump entertained us with an executive order promising security to Qatar.

‘The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States.

In the event of such an attack, the United States shall take all lawful and appropriate measures, including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military, to defend the interests of the United States and of the State of Qatar.’

If there is an aim to make war on Iran, this would fit, as Qatar has huge US airfields and bases, so Trump may be acting to keep Qatar happy so that the US could use the infrastructure.  Giving security guarantees to Qatar right after U.S. refueling tankers land at Al-Udeid Airbase may be intended to be used against Iran.  Alternatively, he is protecting the investment that Qatar made over time in the US.

There are two issues that is almost impossible to keep up with.
The first is the worldwide youth uprising as there are too many.

-Hundreds of young protesters flooded Madagascar’s capital, defying deadly crackdowns over power and water shortages. Despite 22 killed and 100+ injured, demonstrations continue even after -President Rajoelina dissolved the government

-Morocco’s Gen Z uprising leaves 200+ detained overnight. Protests spread across multiple cities, with banks and police vehicles set ablaze.

-Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir EXPLODES in protest — long march takes on the regime.

The second is the wars in Africa. These are not entirely local wars, but have support generally from Egypt, Turkiye and the UAE, the US reguarly bomb something, and between local actors. The most major war theaters are Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea. and the Sahel States. South of the Sahara there are regular skirmishes in Mozambique and Salafis and Takfiris are active in South Africa as well, even though the Muslim population has been there forever.

The UN stated that they have nothing to do with Trump’s Plan for the Palestinians and Gaza.  Russia stated that they have nothing to do with this plan.  China made a longer statement at the UN Security Council:

Fu Cong, China’s permanent representative to the UN called for efforts to revitalize the two-State solution with a firm resolve.  Fu noted that after nearly two years of violence, siege and blockade, more than 66,000 Gazans have lost their lives, and more than 2 million are struggling in an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe”.  Currently, as Israel presses ahead with its plan to take over the Gaza City, countless innocent civilians are dying every day, he added.  “China reiterates that attacking civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable, weaponizing humanitarian supplies is unacceptable, and violating international law and international humanitarian law is equally unacceptable,” Fu said.

Potential:  The Americans are potentially planning attacks on Iran, Iraqi resistance groups, and even Yemen. Recent reports indicate that aerial refueling tankers that entered Europe from the United States over the past two days are now en route to the Middle East. About a dozen U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotankers and other aerial refuelers were transferred from the U.S. mainland to bases in Europe over the past 48 hours. Dozens of additional aerial refueling tankers and fighter jets remain parked at various RAF bases throughout the United Kingdom, awaiting deployment to the Middle East in operations against Iran. Some of the tankers have already arrived at Al-Udeid Airbase in Qatar, carrying fighter jets alongside them.

There is another meeting today. The Trump-Netanyahu meeting about the ‘wizz-bang new plan’ that looks to me as if they are buying time. There is a 21-part plan, that will solve everything for everybody, according to Trump. It was leaked in the Israeli press and for that reason the published leak is not reliable. The local commentary in the region revolves around the fact that I mentioned – No Palestinian is involved therefore it is a continuance of colonialism. Hamas says nothing has reached them and nobody knows whether Qatar or Egypt will intermediate any talks. As we’ve seen for the duration now, talks here are for the sake of talks, and not for the sake of an end to genocide.

A final note on the UNGA of the past week.

Burkina Faso makes a perfect full stop!  Many of us watch and are familiar with the Sahel Alliance.  The Prime Minister addressed the General Debate of the 80th Session and delivered a passionate speech, which some found embarrassing because he pointed fingers justifiably.  Then, he moves on to much good economic and other news.   I firmly believe that Burkina Faso and the Sahel Alliance are among the very few African countries that are breaking the long-standing sticky bonds of colonialism in a way that will be successful, given that they can deal with the ongoing Western-sponsored external interference and openly sponsored terrorism.

That ending!  Long Live Burkina Faso!  A dignified, sovereign country standing firmly on our own feet.  Motherland or Death, We Shall Prevail!   

Coming from Burkina Faso, with a similar message from the speakers of the Alliance, this is meaningful and resolute, without a hint of hubris!

The “Not My War” President Trump (aka Biden 2.0) Approved Strikes Into Russia

Trump has approved Ukraine carrying out long-range strikes on Russian territory but has not yet decided on supplying Tomahawk missiles, U.S. presidential envoy Keith Kellogg said on Fox News.

When asked whether this was officially Trump’s position — to authorize Ukraine to conduct such deep strikes — Kellogg replied:

“If you read what he said, and what Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Rubio said, the answer is yes.”

Shortly after this interview, power plants in Bryansk and Belgorod were struck with HIMARS — meaning the attacks targeted Russian territory using a weapons system that requires U.S. involvement.

US-Europe Manipulating Elections in Moldova to Extend Russia…

For those wondering why the US/EU are obsessed over elections in Moldova, it is literally on the list of geopolitical measures aimed at “extending Russia” in the 2019 RAND Corporation paper, “Extending Russia: Competing from Advantageous Ground.”

The paper notes: “The United States could encourage Transnistria’s youth (who, according to some journalistic accounts, might be more pro-West than their elders) to push their pseudo-state to leave the Russian orbit.” And that: “The United States could also push for closer NATO and European integration with Moldova.”

This is yet another example of US foreign policy continuity of agenda – and a wake up call to those convinced the US is “retreating” from either Europe or Asia (or anywhere else for that matter) – Berletic.

Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, stated that European politicians are deliberately sabotaging dialogue with Moscow. He directly called Macron, Merz, and Starmer “arsonists of war,” accusing them of destroying diplomatic bridges with Russia.

There is a constant risk that all this could lead to nuclear war. It has been that way from the very beginning, and it seems there is no desire to back down from this. No matter how incompetent the US leadership may be, I would absolutely place Starmer, Merz, and Macron at the same level of grotesque incompetence. I don’t think any of them represent the interests of their country, the security of Europe, or the reality of this situation, — Sachs emphasised.

He added that their position excludes any diplomacy with Russia, fuels Russophobia, and creates an extremely dangerous situation in the world.

Iran has recalled its envoys to the United Kingdom, France and Germany after the three European states triggered the “snapback” of United Nations sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

State media said the ambassadors were summoned “for consultations” in response to what Tehran called the “irresponsible action” of the E3 to revive repealed Security Council resolutions.

The sanctions, effective Sunday, reimpose a global ban on cooperation with Iran’s nuclear, military, banking and shipping industries. The Iranian Rial dropped to record lows in Tehran’s open market ahead of their enforcement.

Russia and China opposed the move, declaring the snapback “null and void.”
