The strategy of empire going forward will be one of denial of world development through chaos creation. While the approach has shifted, imperialist aspirations endure. The fragile veil of a pretense of peace lies irrevocably torn asunder, its remnants eclipsed by the unrelenting tide of violence that now reigns.ย  The strategy is beginning to unravel both internally in the US and in international affairs, as the world is saying a resounding NO”.

Daily Chronicles features issues, small or large, that have the potential to change our world. We focus on anti-human systems that have to go and be replaced by more straightforward and honest endeavors aimed at growing food worth eating, doing honest trade, running an honest financial system, healing people, receiving and providing worth while education, traveling, building places worth living in, creating cool technology, going to space, and learning useful things.

And it changes again now in one day. Earlier: “The exemption for certain electronics from recent tariffs is just temporary, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has said on Sunday. ”

Anyway, whatever the Grand Cheeto says .. what was posted here was from his very own U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

@realDonaldTrump

NOBODY is getting โ€œoff the hookโ€ for the unfair Trade Balances, and Non Monetary Tariff Barriers, that other Countries have used against us, especially not China which, by far, treats us the worst! There was no Tariff โ€œexceptionโ€ announced on Friday. These products are subject to the existing 20% Fentanyl Tariffs, and they are just moving to a different Tariff โ€œbucket.โ€ The Fake News knows this, but refuses to report it. We are taking a look at Semiconductors and the WHOLE ELECTRONICS SUPPLY CHAIN in the upcoming National Security Tariff Investigations. What has been exposed is that we need to make products in the United States, and that we will not be held hostage by other Countries, especially hostile trading Nations like China, which will do everything within its power to disrespect the American People. We also cannot let them continue to abuse us on Trade, like they have for decades, THOSE DAYS ARE OVER! The Golden Age of America, which includes the upcoming Tax and Regulation Cuts, a substantial amount of which was just approved by the House and Senate, will mean more and better paying Jobs, making products in our Nation, and treating other Countries, in particular China, the same way they have treated us. The bottom line is that our Country will be bigger, better, and stronger than ever before. We will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Nuri Vitachi has a comical but correct explanation of ‘unfair trade balances’.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Best of yesterday, but not from China where the trolling is unbelievable. This comment is from a US supplier who manufactures his ‘box’ in China.

THE GRAND CHEETO IS AN IDIOT

Just as I said yesterday here: “Nobody is paying attention because if this can happen today, something else can be announced tomorrow. The trust base is gone, and countries will continue changing their trade patterns and hedge against the US.”

The exemption for certain electronics from recent tariffs is just temporary, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has said on Sunday. These products will soon face “semiconductor tariffs,” expected in a MONTH OR TWO. Lutnick emphasized the need to reshore semiconductor production, chips, and flat panels, stressing that the US canโ€™t rely on Southeast Asia for these essential components.

So, it indeed changed overnight.ย  We can start singing together with the Greek Fat man in the Kaftan:ย  Good bye my Love Good bye …

Trump has signed an executive order that extends a package of anti-Russian sanctions introduced by Biden for a year, according to the US Federal Register.ย  On April 15, 2021, the Biden administration introduced executive order 14024, imposing sanctions on Russian individuals and entities that may have allegedly been engaged in cyber-enabled activities against the country, efforts to undermine the conduct of elections in the United States and other countries, attempts to harm or kill American citizens, as well as financial and other sanctions-busting operations.

Russia already said these must be lifted but they are not really worried about them.ย  So, does Trump want an agreement with Russia?ย  Make it make sense.ย

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Smartphones and computers will be excluded from President Donald Trumpโ€™s reciprocal tariffs, according to new guidance issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The updated tariff guidance also carves out exemptions for a range of electronic devices and components, including laptops, semiconductors, solar panels, flat-screen TV displays, flash drives, memory cards, and solid-state drives used for data storage. (Yes, for China too).

(No truth social annoucments all in capitals, no big pressers yet .. Iran-US negotiations in Omani capital Muscat has ended for today and will continue next week. The Iran Foreign Ministry announced that talks were held in a positive, constructive atmosphere and based on mutual respect. The U.S. delegation did not repeat its earlier demands about Iran’s missile program and ending its support for regional groups, and the discussions were limited only to the ‘nuclear file’.
Apparently Trump is getting ready for press conference.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

This is really very good with some superb one-liner quotes for use; Prof Wolff and Galloway. Before you watch, bear in mind what Wang Yi (FM, China) said just a few hours ago.

The US cannot act arbitrarily and the wheel of history cannot be turned back: Wang Yi

This trade war or its consequences are not going away until the US cries uncle or shows a white flag or trade is bifurcated into blocs across the world (or the US becomes normal but their shining light upon the hill is still blinding them). As you listen to Prof. Wolff in this video, one cannot predict an outcome, excepting that China will not fold. One can expect that there could be a fight on now, and in a little time emotions will normalize and there will be renewed trade talks. I don’t expect that on the short term. This trade war for China, is like the decision that Russia had to take to start the SMO.

Even the Chinese MoD is trolling the US.

The news today is chasing the end of Friday.ย  A few issues:

Tomorrow is the Iran-US negotiations.ย  There is quite a bit of pre-negotiation growling still taking place, but Iran said .. OK, all cool.ย  We’ll do direct negotiations. ย  In the meantime, Iran has posted a lengthy piece in the press about their peaceful use of nuclear energy, specifically cold laser, which is used for wound care; they are rolling this out country-wide. ย  We have to hold on to Prof. Marandi’s knowledge.ย  He says:ย  “Iran knows exactly what they are dealing with and what they are doing.”

This is one source, an official Yemeni government account, where we receive our daily Yemen information. Yahya Saree is the official spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces. His posts were factual, professional, and accurate, and he did not break the rules. He is the person who Pepe Escobar, with information from one of his fellow visitors to Yemen, a Chinese, described as famous in China.

It is clear to see, the US Centcom’s acts of airstrike aggression against Yemen targets residential sites and agricultural fields in the capital Sanaโ€™a and its surrounding districts.ย  The acts of the zionist entity in Gaza and the region are exactly the same as the aggression against Yemen.ย  It is just another little country with little brown men that they want to demolish.

Here is a short from Pepe Escobar talking about Yahya Saree.ย  https://www.youtube.com/shorts/uQ3n20RRhcU

The better news is that I have not seen the copious Elon Musk X posts and it is as if he is no longer cosplaying as Trump’s first prime minister: A little palace coup if we read the signs right.

Journalists gathered by the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul, where consultations between the delegations of Russia and the United States will take place in a closed format. It is a technical meeting. Peskov stated Ukraine will not be discussed.ย  (Only a few hours – 6 –ย  and Ria Novosti reports that the talks have ended).

In the meantime, Peskov said: The Kremlin is closely analyzing the potential fallout from U.S. trade tariffs. โ€œWe’re watching the situation very carefully, because measures like this inevitably have consequences for global trade and the world economyโ€. (Sure Dmitry, sure!).

Developments in Russiaโ€™s Kursk Region:

โ–ช๏ธRussian troops are completing an operation to clear forest belts in the outskirts of Guyevo in the Kursk Region of Ukrainian army remnants.ย  Russian forces inflicted more than 420 casualties on the Ukrainian army in the Kursk area over the past day.ย ย (This is almost double the average.)

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

The last vestiges of trust in the US administration is dissipating. Whereas countries became alarmed when the Russian central bank funds were seized and we saw the growth of BRICS with alternative economic systems available, the Asian business community is now acting. The simple calculation of what makes money and what not, is kicking in.

This was expected and I’ve said so frequently.ย  Trade that is too difficult to do, or fraught with uncertainty, or not productive, will not be done.

In addition and I’ve not seen many mentions of this, China being China, is scooping up any trade that may be floating around by further reducing trade friction.

Nury Vittachi comments (with added ed.notes):

US CONSUMERS WON’T KNOW WHAT’S HIT THEM

Major companies across Asia are contacting their container ships and ordering them to change direction.ย  (A simple thing like Christmas decorations will not really be available in the US – but that could be a luxury item. These container ships may have deliveries for the Latin American and Caribbean Countries, so the fall-out is not only US centric).

Others are writing off the entire cost of shipments crossing the Pacific.ย ย Factories in China, Vietnam, Cambodia and elsewhere are closing assembly linesโ€”and business development teams are fanning out across the world to find new markets.

Some big American buyers are asking producers to lower their prices, and getting no response. (Amazon is having its buy orders canceled and their are more in this position).ย  At GlobalSouth.co, part of what we do is to ‘feature issues, small or large, that have the potential to change our world’.ย  This is a large change and my expectation is that it will be permanent, perhaps in a different form, but the world will not pay the US debt for them.ย  The sheer anger from China and Vietnam (the two that I know about) will not allow their administrations to negotiate materially with the US administration).

The US started putting tariffs on every single country on the planet and when China responded in kind it had the audacity to call China the aggressor. This is a classic US tactic which all Westerners should have long since seen through. They always throw the first punch and then claim to be the victim. The world should also have learnt a very valuable lesson in the last week or so. The US knows the post Bretton Woods World order is over. They just want something similar whereby they get to continue to bully the world. So it’s tariffs today and something else next week. Trust is the most important currency in the world. Trump’s tariff policy demonstrated that the US is bereft of a single dime of this currency.ย

(There may be an unintended consequence. The US Centcom may not be able to keep up a supply of missiles and weapons for the war on Yemen or their war on the Palestinians. The military logistics and supply line for a possible war on Iran may be affected. I am however by far overstepping the mark here and this is not a prediction. It is a possibility.)

SHORTAGES IN U.S.
Store shelves in the United States are going to have big gaps within weeksโ€”as shortages of household items rise.ย  (Shoes will be a thing as 94+% of US shoes are made outside the country).ย ย  Prices will shoot up for whatever stock is left, triggering a jump in inflation that the country can’t afford.

Trump fans are pointing to a partial rebound in some stock markets, not realizing that they were triggered by rising rumours that their hero’s plans were being delayed.

TRUMP HUMILIATES WORLD
Meanwhile, the cause of all this trouble remained largely unaware of the trouble he was causing. Every country in the world is “kissing my a**”, Donald Trump said with delight at a fund-raising dinner in Washington on Tuesday night.

Except China, of course.

Which is why he paused tariffs on all his targets, including the penguins and US military bases, except China, which saw Trump taxes lifted about 100%. Hilariously, the mainstream media cannot bring itself to praise China. The UK Guardian today, incredibly, accused the Chinese of “intransigence”โ€”as if standing up to Trump’s illegal levels of economic coercion was a bad thing.

CHANGE OF COURSE
Why did Trump change course suddenly?ย ย Advisors on Wednesday warned him that they were seeing the steepest fall in US government bond prices in 40 years, indicating a global lack of confidence in the future of the country.ย ย That’s when he knew he had to back down.

But that triggered panic about his image — Trump needed to avoid headlines saying that he was backing down โ€“ so he launched a vicious attack on China, a developing nation, to prove that he was still a world-class economic thug.ย ย This is clearly a mistake. China makes products that the US needs, from phones to computers to clothes to shoes to microwaves.ย ย The US consumer cannot manage without these items. And cannot afford to pay a 104% surcharge for them. This will become obvious very soon.

CRUDE SINOPHOBES
Trump’s economic advisors, Peter Navarro and Scott Bessant, have aptly demonstrated that they know less about their subject than the UK’s in-and-out former Prime Minister Liz Truss (lettuce level intelligence)โ€”which is really saying something.

Both are crude Sinophobes who have come to believe their own myths about the rising nation.ย ย Shaun Rein of the China Market Research Group, who has tried to advise Bessant in the past, said yesterday: “I worry for America. We have one of the most ignorant on China yet arrogant people I’ve ever met running a trade war against China.”

My inbox plus a few X posts now trickling in (they’re still sleeping in China) tells me that this is an attempt on Xi Jinping, trying to gin up certain Chinese factions (not necessarily friends of Xi)ย  to create a capitulation or a regime change.ย  The Chinese seem to be wise to it.ย  One says .. aha, there it is – we’ve been waiting for this attempt at destabilization.ย  BRING IT ON!

Just 4 hours before the Trump announcement of tariff pause, he did a post:ย  “This is a great time to buy”.ย  Markets soared immediately after the pause was announced. ย  Catherine Austin Fitts has a discussion up on the sheer lawlessness, not specifically this, but in general.

Lying Festering Pork Trotters. Second Hand car auction! The US treasury is for sale. ‘Oops, I made a terrible mistake but no matter, let’s blame China and change the offer to 10%. Perhaps I can get 10%.’

@realDonaldTrump

Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the Worldโ€™s Markets, I am hereby raising the Tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A., and other Countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable. Conversely, and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to Trade, Trade Barriers, Tariffs, Currency Manipulation, and Non Monetary Tariffs, and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Dmitry Medvedev: The US has spent hundreds of billions of dollars to help Kiev. And now what? Now some American jerks are buying guns from Bandera fans to kill their president! What a shame! Hey, merciful Trump! Isn’t it time to punish those who really were behind the assassination attempt and are now snorting coke on Bankovaya street?

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

One of the most evenhanded US commentators on the US/Iran negotiations, is Larry Johnson. Factually correct, he steers clear of the Israeli side which anyone in the US now has to do for their own safety. US/Israel is one, so, we can read those as one. https://sonar21.com/iran-prepping-for-negotiatons-with-the-us-russia-and-china-have-irans-back/

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

If there is an illustration of the complete incompetence of the US, it is the announcement that Trump is considering sending US citizens deemed criminals/repeat offenders to foreign prisons (penal colonies). As the concept of law and innocent until proven guilty, is falling apart in the US, it is sheer fascism. So we see the insane foreign policy becoming domestic policy. The current administration is now improvising both.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

If there is an illustration of the complete impotence of the US to solve anything between Russia and the Ukraine, it is this: In the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have attacked Russian power facilities four times. In violation of the Russian-American agreements to cease strikes at energy facilities for 30 days from 18 March 2025, the Kiev regime has practically never stopped attacks on the Russian power infrastructure even for a day.

During the period from 20:00 of 8 April to 6:00 of 9 April, alerted air defence systems intercepted and shot down 158 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles. The SMO continues.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Increased tariffs kicked in on Chinese products into the United States – 104%. As the US dollar hits a 20-year high against the yuan, Chinaโ€™s central bank urges state banks to curb dollar purchases. China’s commerce ministry has added 12 U.S. defense and technology companies to its export control list, bringing the total to 28 since last week.

US “mutual tariffs” begin to operate on all countries without exception.

China has raised tariffs on goods imported from the US to an additional 84%, the state-run China Central Television reports.

We cannot analyze or forecast the actual impact on the world economy. In the meantime, Trump says โ€œIโ€™m telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my assโ€. โ€œThey are dying to make a deal: โ€˜Please, please sir, make a deal. Iโ€™ll do anything, Iโ€™ll do anything sir.โ€™โ€ (Bear in mind the Trump porkies and this seems like a porky). ย ย  https://t.me/DDGeopolitics/144259

China issued a White Paper wherein they detail the various agreements with the US. This again shows a non-agreement capable trade partner.

“The US imposition of tariffs and other restrictive trade measures on its trading partners has:

  • artificially disrupted established global supply and industrial chains,
  • undermined market-oriented free trade rules,
  • severely hindered the economic development of various countries,
  • harmed the wellbeing of both the American people and those of other countries, and
  • negatively impacted economic globalization.”

USAid is back and rebooting. At least 6 previously terminated programs are being revived for emergency food assistance funding in Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, Jordan, Iraq, and Ecuador, Reuters reported. (For any reader here, the list of countries tells the story). By bankrolling so-called civil society groups, USAID has long functioned as a covert enabler of American influence, sowing unrest and paving the way for regime change while packaging it all as โ€œpromoting democracy.” (https://t.me/geopolitics_live/47393)

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran’s talks in Oman on Saturday are an opportunity to test the seriousness of the United States which has a record of dealing in bad faith.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

More Tariffs: “We’re going to tariff our pharmaceuticals. And once we do that, theyโ€™re going to come rushing back into our country,” he said.

Countries and industry will have to decide – do they make more money and prosper working for the US, or do they prosper working for the world market? Example: Apple iPhone – do they make iPhones for the US alone at triple the price, or do they go for the world market and iPhones cost what they cost today (way too much anyways). Soon this type of cost benefit analysis will carry the day.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ทPresident Luiz Inรกcio Lula da Silva criticized actions taken by Donald Trump, who applied trade tariffs against nearly 180 countries last week, igniting a global trade war. According to Lula, the American leader is implementing a “pivot” in the world that, he says, “won’t work.”

“I see President Trump’s behavior in the United States. I don’t know what they think, but I don’t think it will work. No one jokes that the world doesn’t exist with almost 200 countries.”

He also indicated that “all countries want sovereignty” and “to establish a process of harmony,” and that “the most important thing today is multilateralism.”

“And suddenly the world is in free fall, where a single citizen believes he can dictate the rules for everything that will happen in the world. I’m afraid it won’t work,” Lula said.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

The White House has confirmed that increased import tariffs on Chinese goods will take effect starting Wednesday local time, according to Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Meanwhile, Trump says heโ€™s convinced China wants a deal with the U.S. on tariffs โ€” but Beijing โ€œdoesnโ€™t know how to make it happen.โ€ย ย He added that if China reaches out to Washington to negotiate, he would be โ€œincredibly generous.โ€

While attempting to shake down the rest of the world:

The US administration has prepared a defense budget amounting to approximately one trillion dollars. The 2024 defense budget amounted to 841 billion dollars

โ€œWe also essentially approved a budget, which is in the vicinity of a trillion dollars. A trillion dollars, and nobodyโ€™s seen anything like it. We have to build our military, and weโ€™re very cost-conscious, but the military is something that we have to build, and we have to be strong, because you got a lot of bad forces out there now,โ€ he said during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House.

In turn, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth published a post on his X page saying: โ€œComing soon: the first trillion dollar for the Department of Defense budget. US President Donald Trump is rebuilding our military – and fast.โ€

The information coming out of Netanyahu’s visit to the White House is GOOOFY.ย  Just now:ย  | The White House cancels the scheduled press conference but it continued.

Following his meeting with war criminal Netanyahu, Trump returns to calling for U.S. control over Gaza, describing it as โ€œimportant real estateโ€ and proposing it be owned and governed by an American โ€œpeace forceโ€ after the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.ย  (Do you see the similarity here with Ukraine?)

China calls it:ย  Global stock markets usher in โ€˜Black Mondayโ€™ after US tariff announcement

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Escalation:ย  104% for China

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

… denial of world development through chaos creation … $6.4 TRILLION disappeared from the global economy in half a day. We will see if this is called a Black Monday.

This is a reminder of what Prof. Wolff said in the last interview posted up. He explained that the results of imposition of tariffs cannot be planned and foreseen as there are too many inter-reacting and external variables. While we do not want to report on markets to the nth degree, the world’s markets are down today, since Asia started falling at their open and market circuit breakers were employed across the world. I am sure they stand ready in the US to do this as well.

The principle here, and let us use simple words, is that Trump and his administration want it all. They want to be the leaders of the world and they think they are, and therefore everyone and anyone should bow before them. We spoke about the war against BRICS that we expected to break loose, but the economic war broke loose against the world. This administration wants all the world’s resources, but they could care less about all the world’s people.

Of course we watch China, as in the economic war, China is an economic peer competitor, although it says continually that it is number two, in order to in some way with words, not inflate the current chaos.

China directly puts the blame: “The immediate trigger was the US government’s April 2 announcement of so-called reciprocal tariffs on all trading partners, a move criticized as destabilizing the rules-based global trade system.” Don’t misunderstand the use of the word ‘rules-based’. They simply mean that the WTO has rules. Update: https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202504/1331562.shtml

Given Prof. Wolff’s statement, we won’t post a raft of market related videos, but search out those that explain the process, as we cannot know an outcome. For commentary, I still like Seun Foo, who does exactly that! explains the process of the shakedown of the whole world.

We can know one outcome and that is that the world’s economic structure will change materially. We need to remember as well that Trump tells porkies and we cannot believe what he says except to wait for it to prove out or not.

As always, I have a question: Does China own the US yet? Huh? 5 minutes:

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

Key statements by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov:

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThe situation in the global economy is restless and emotionally overwhelmed after US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose tariffs;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThe situation in the global economy is very tense and full of negative expectations after the introduction of US tariffs;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธRussian economic authorities are doing everything to minimize the consequences of a global economic storm for Russia after the US decision on tariffs;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธOil price is an important indicator for the Russian budget, the Russian authorities are closely monitoring this indicator;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThe Kremlin links oil price hikes to the US decision to impose tariffs on most countries in the world;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThere is no specific date for the next Russia-US talks yet, but there is understanding that these contacts should continue;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThe Russian military strike exclusively military targets in Ukraine, no strikes are being carried out on social infrastructure;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธMoscow is calling for focusing on the statements of the Russian Defense Ministry regarding strikes at the meeting place of commanders in Krivoy Rog (Kryvyi Rih);

๐Ÿ”น๏ธPutin supports the idea of need for a ceasefire, but it is necessary to clarify all the nuances of Kiev’s position for this;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธRussia must ensure its interests, despite solidarity with the idea of a ceasefire;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธRussia is in constant consultations with Iran, including on the issue of the nuclear dossier, and regular contacts are expected in the near future;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธRussia is ready to make every effort to help resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through diplomatic means;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธPutin did not speak on phone with hockey player Alexander Ovechkin, but the president highly appreciates the hockey player’s athletic performance;

๐Ÿ”น๏ธThere are no details so far on the organization of a hockey match between NHL and KHL players, which Putin and US President Donald Trump have talked about.

The Trump Regime in general in many ways perfectly represents America as a nation: Idiotic boasting and threats; an inbred sense of victimhood that other nations are perpetually “abusing” the USA; and a pathological insecurity complex that underlies it all.

Welcome to the United States of Trumptards.
