One year, 77 articles & countless insights: My gratitude journey on GlobalSouth.co

July 6, 2024 I sent an email to Amarynth. “I wrote a short essay about how to proceed as human kind. Would you mind reading it and give your thoughts about it? I wrote it in Dutch but used a good machine translator to have the text in English. I think it needs adjustment, but my English is not good enough I’m afraid.”

Two hours later I got a reply: “Nico, it is absolutely fine. One can strive for perfection, but perfection is the enemy of being good enough. Let us post it as is.   All the best and Thank You!”

WHAT? WOW! HOW? I did not expect that.

My first essay How Do We Move Forward? on GlobalSouth.co saw the light. I’m actually still kind of surprised. It even feels a little unrealistic to be standing among people who I greatly appreciate, who share their vast knowledge and who can write so well and with such quality. I also hope I can add something, from my humble perspective and with a touch of spirituality. I like to shake things up and try to encourage people to be critical and think for themselves. When we let go of something the space to grow is created. All of life is about consciousness and awareness.

A year later, 77 of my articles have been posted (plus 4 music journeys and 2 forum threads). Not a single article offered has been refused and we know that Amarynth is both empathetic and critical. Always I get a thank you. But my gratitude is greater and I want to thank Amarynth in particular for her tremendous effort, connection, commitment and loving energy. That cannot be emphasized enough. At the same time, I also see AHH’s enthusiasm and commitment to the website, even during Amarynth’s absence. You are special people and I am grateful to know and belong to you.

Then not forgetting all the people who comment and thus actively participate in our common process of gaining knowledge and growing personally and spiritually in consciousness. Your involvement is tremendously important, because we all need mirrors and we are all on our way on our own and joint life path. I appreciate your critical notes as much as compliments. It is incredibly important to speak out. Don’t be a filter for others, because everyone needs to learn to listen better. Not taking everything personally. Learn to let go. Laugh more, there needs to be a lot more laughter.

Comments are welcome as usual. Questions are of course allowed. Suggestions for topics and articles are nice. Some write such extensive and substantive comments that they are just about worthy of their own article. By the way, personal questions are also welcome. A first year as a writer for GlobalSouth.co has flown by. I am grateful and fulfilled. I still have much to do; to write, to learn and to navigate that crazy process called life. I wish all readers joy, inspiration and love. You are needed in this world, so live your life to the fullest.
