So just a few thoughts before I start the next post
1. I don’t think empire sows chaos as an end to itself. There is a point to the chaos – and that’s to keep everyone down except empire. Even if that chaos has some negative impacts on empire, if it’s worse for everyone else, than the west’s zero-sum power game still wins.
2. I’m with you on the eastern mindset. I’m also with you on trusting the Resistance. I don’t trust Russia. Not going to go into it in depth, but I see Russia as the weak link here, with potentially very negative fallout for China (and Iran) if Russia does fall off the wagon. Russia is not playing Go.
3. I’m also being overly negative. I’m actually quite hopeful about the way things are going. But I do have a tendency to try to temper my enthusiasm when it comes to empire’s decay. I know the emperor has no clothes, but time after time it seems like no one else figures it out, and empire somehow wins again.
Thanks for your thoughts, very good stuff. Reading what you said, I do think we are looking at not just a clash of nations, not just a clash of civilizations, but a clash of paradigms. There are many strengths to western thought, but it’s not a coincidence we are over 100 years past the birth of post-modernism, which exposed (in my view) the fatal flaws in western ways of thinking (i.e. modernism). Western strength is based on the systematization capabilities developed through modernity, as well as the primacy of the individual/ego. But older paradigms are better able to deal with ambiguity, and the western mindset hates ambiguity. We see that in full force right now with MAGA.

I do not think *they* think they have screwed the pooch yet. We shall see, but it seems to me that what we are seeing was the plan all along. What we are seeing is what was expected by everyone, including the military.

But I also think *they* think the US is a tool that has outgrown it’s usefulness. So they don’t care about military morale or even winning this war. They can’t build more weapons without Chinese rare earths, so it’s use it or lose it time, and get what you can now from the dying US before throwing it under the bus and moving on.

I’m not concerned about China’s energy situation, I didn’t mention in my post because I don’t see it being realistic to attack China through energy. The US has never specialized in frontal attacks anyways, they aren’t coming for China through energy, they are intentionally creating chaos for others in Asia that are more dependent on importing oil.

I appreciate your excellent post for laying out those energy numbers vis-a-vis China specifically. To me, these numbers all make surrender drama more likely – just another batch of numbers that the smart guys in USreal absolutely know, so either they are making moves here for show, or there’s a different focus to what they’re doing.

I think the bigger concern if we aren’t looking at surrender drama, is that the US genuinely thinks it has managed to drive some wedge between Russia and China. In my mind, the goal here is not to start WWIII but to take each piece on at a time. That plan would be – finish off Iran, then pivot just enough to Ukraine to make Russia wilt. Then, and only then, does the US start to think about pivoting to China. The west has been throwing around total war by 2030, that makes sense for that actual China pivot if all goes to plan.

As ?proof? of that wedge, notice Bessent tweeted today that India gets a 30 day sanctions waiver to buy oil from Russia. I’ll post the tweet later, have to find it again. If there is a wedge to be found, I think USrael will absolutely do everything they can to exploit it.

How would this plan work? It’s the same plan the US uses everywhere. Create absolute chaos. Destroy infrastructure everywhere so the whole world suffers, and eventually even China starts to succumb. Supposedly attacks on Saudi Arabia oil infrastructure and the pipeline through Turkey aren’t from Iran, so that indicates to me the Hormuz closure was desired and planned.

This is all speculative, just trying to make sense of what is or isn’t happening on the ground.
