I recall reading recently that an Anglo-American Plan notationally intended to prevent USSR-Russia from joining with Third Reich in the war, presumably as allies, existed. They would attack USSR to prevent an alliance between Germany and Russia. This idea seems imho unrealistic, given the characteristics of the ideologies and Russian culture and German culture itself, a common alliance seems risible. I suspect the mooted reason is a deceptive one. And that the bald and obvious implication is that it would be the Reich with which the Anglosaxon Armies would join, as “racial brothers in a glorious”…oh, you know… Anyway, I am sure I read that, and I am sure Winston wanted his damn’d bomb for Russia, so it figures. Anyway, as the maps show, it was the Reich that they did join, in 1949 or so, sorta. It’s really the infernal logic of psychopathic freaks operating far beyond their capacities, and on dope too, of one sort or another…why worry!

The wiki on star-link seems to describe a system that seems highly jammable. However jamming is not necessarily a smart thing to do…and I wonder why it has not been jammed (if it has not)… as in one might expect Russian boffins to be deeper and more subtle…as in the transmitters, at least potentially, are 100% locatable…and this would seem to include particularly the ground stations…as in these cannot be concealed for long. Along the lines of not-jamming, I note Ruskie soldat in 404 now have drone sniff receiver alarms that reveal the birdie nearby. For the same reason cables don’t always get cut. HF does not always get jammed. That said, I expect that the Russian are capable of eliminating star-link with ease, anytime. If so, then that good man elon has a motivation to compromise… lotta money on the table. Note that the birdies use phased array and Hall effect thrusters… jam the orientating function and the birdie is useless, which suggests hacking into the bird’s software as a subtle method…imho, if done right then the birdies work until they get the command to “execute”…we all know how much fun a surprise can be. Noting that depending on complex system tends to be unwise when the consequences involve great matters. Better tap phone than cut wire.

I well remember stepping bare-footed on toys in the dark, dog-tired and reading bedtime stories. It does arise that small “nuclear” couples isolated from kin and induced to both work away from the kids…this seems to me a not ideal “family”. Quite possibly nonfunctional in any long period. Indeed, Mrs P and I often discuss the matter of kin and children and best…and generally hold that people are tribal, communal, when they’re in a healthy situation they are a big family… we like 150, to pick a number. Plenty of playmates, plenty of supervision…almost everybody is uncle or aunt or cousin or sibling…plenty of language and learning, and it’s thrifty, and stable. Of course, some people leave, especially since the steam engine and all the steel and stuff. Maybe that’s good, maybe not. I suppose it depends on the specifics. “Crazy uncles” may be among those that leave. ( a fine turn of phrase!)

Thunderstorms last evening, and the dusty HV lines arced a lot when they were wetted, make “bang”… Long time ago there was a violent fella that planted a honest to gosh real bomb that really exploded…killed a boy in fact…motorcycle shop blown to ruins. I just missed the rodeo but was not far away. Maybe 5 minutes…and the shock-pressure wave was very unpleasant…that’s my aversion to loud bangs. Astonishingly, after industry noise and many loudnesses, my hearing remains acute, which is very nice. My rifle days are long gone, but I do have an air rifle that’s safe to shoot, and quiet…and which I came across all dusty..so ? I can’t hit a tin can at 30 feet! … And I don’t want to practice…. Aging is a very interesting experience, my friend; I suppose you’re noticing this too.
Father told me he too was close to a bomb that went off…in the Courthouse, right after the war…bespoke the fella, a little nervous guy wearing a suit on a hot pre-air-conditioned LA, all sweating… Funny about coincidences. 5 minutes later the guy blew himself up.
