Liberalism and liberal in the present day usage (see above Arnaud Bertrand) have acquired an inverted meaning. In the past liberal meant “broad or open minded”, willing to have a rational understanding, essentially a scientific approach, it was a reliable method of finding, seeking, wisdom and making rational decisions and discovering reality. Now it means dogmatic. I disagree with the implication that “democracy” has a significant relationship in juxtaposition to either the classical or the degenerate usage of the term liberal. Democracy, in myriad forms, is a political method of creating non-violent consent, it fits neither the classical nor the modern meanings. We ought to understand the modern usage of liberal as referring to an occult or seditious political device to undermine rationality and create consent by intimidation and violence. The voting of the people, democracy, is generally based on vague notions, primarily emotional, and heavily influenced by the ruling wealthy classes via media crafted by experts. These classes are of their class due to accident of birth and ambitions, often by greed. They are rarely liberal in the classical sense, but may use modern political liberalism in an effort to maintain their position.

Indeed so! And among the US force, Hispanic soldiers sympathetic to La Raza and La Reconquista.  The fellas and the operation may well seed the future in ways quite surprizing.

I dispute the claim that European “security architecture”  and institutions were ever intended to keep the Peace. And propose that they were intended to pursue the goal of wrecking the USSR, the same goal as the war that failed to do so.  As they say, NATO was to keep the yanks in, the germans down, and the Russians out.
