Crooke suggests that the Hegemon has to convince the Americans who believe themselves, their Republic … to be exceptional, indeed necessary to ‘instruct the rest of the planet how to live’ … has to convince them that their ‘belief’ is no longer (if it ever was) the case …
Always the diplomat, Crooke cannot bring himself to say the obvious here … that the very epitome of exceptionalism – Donald John Trump – will become president – leader (nominal) of the Hegemon (declining) in two weeks – the person who should be persuading those misguided Americans that the USA is NOT exceptional.
Trump is the cheerleader for MAGA – the drive to carve ‘exceptionalism’ into marble and shove it down the throats of humanity.
