‼️Kyiv is urgently convening an “energy Ramstein.”
Ukraine will ask EU countries for €5 billion to increase electricity imports and will gather “European partners” for a special summit to solicit new loans from the Europeans. Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced
this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada .
” We face a challenge—finance and cooperation with partners. To restore, modernize, and protect our energy sector, we have ambitious plans for this year—to attract approximately 5 billion euros from international partners ,” Shmyhal said.
” Ukraine has proposed a new coordination format – the so-called Energy Ramstein. Our partners now better understand our needs and priorities. Energy Ramstein will take place next week in Brussels, where we will discuss additional support with ministers.
We are also working to increase our electricity import capacity. It currently stands at 2.45 GW. The goal is to increase this figure to 3.5 GW or more in the coming years ,” he promised.
