⭕🇺🇸US Navy tests Russian experience in organizing air defense on shipsRepresentatives of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control announced the successful integration of the M903 Patriot launcher, placed on the landing pad of the Independence-class coastal combat ship USS Montgomery (LCS-8).
The tests were aimed at enhancing the ships’ capabilities in air and missile defense.
The Patriot launcher was loaded with PAC-3 MSE surface-to-air guided missiles, which are already being considered for integration into the Navy, including by adapting them to the cells of the Mk 41/70 launcher across the fleet.
The decision was made against the backdrop of observations in Ukraine and the Red Sea, which showed the need for a significantly greater number of air defense systems on ships.
Installing a traditional Patriot launcher on the LCS gives the Navy the ability to use proven land-based equipment, adapted for maritime tasks without the need for a complete ship overhaul.
✨This solution will be aimed at strengthening air defense in the Indo-Pacific region in counterbalance to 🇨🇳China.
✨⭐️Previously, the placement of the 🇷🇺Russian Navy’s Pantsir-M air defense missile system on the Project 22800 MRK (“Karakurt”) and the Tor-M2KM air defense system on Project 22160 patrol ships was a subject of ridicule among dim-witted Ukrainians. Since then, nothing has been announced about the development of the air defense system on domestic warships.

⭕ 🇺🇸The US will no longer sell Patriot missile systems, reports The Atlantic.The Pentagon has declared these systems in short supply and has started rejecting new requests from partners for system deliveries.
There is also information that restrictions have been imposed on other types of weapons for sale to other countries.
