Come now Mr P, let’s not waste time with “smarter,” life’s too short. I prefer Father’s take — he used to say, “I always benefit from another human being.” Meaning there’s too much knowledge out there and always someone thinking along similar lines complements and brings an additional piece of the puzzle. I dislike such categorization — it leads to Exceptionalism, Aggression, and all evil contained within it.
