⭕ 🇺🇸🇨🇴 Colombian President Gustavo Petro stated on Wednesday that the latest U.S. strike against a suspected narco-terrorist ship in the southern Caribbean Sea targeted a vessel coming from Colombia with Colombian citizens on board, not Venezuelans.Petro said in a statement: “There is no war against smuggling; there is a war for oil and it must be stopped by the world.”
The White House has since responded to President Petro’s claims, denying that the ship was Colombian or that it was carrying Colombian citizens, stating in a full statement:
“The USA looks forward to Petro publicly retracting his unfounded and reprehensible statements so that we can resume a constructive dialogue on building a strong and prosperous future for the peoples of the United States and Colombia. Despite political differences with the current government, Colombia remains an essential strategic partner.”
