The International Telecommunications Company confirmed on Monday a disruption in communications between Africa and Europe through the cables that pass through the Red Sea.

The company, known as “Sikom,” stated that its infrastructure in the Red Sea was affected by a fault that impacted the cable system and the flow of information between Africa and Europe.

The company did not specify the cause of the disruption so far.

The statement came hours after Israeli media reports about the disruption of communications through 4 cables in the Red Sea.

The Hebrew newspaper “Globes” attributed the reasons to what it described as “Houthi attacks.”

While Sana’a has previously confirmed, through the statements of several officials responsible for the safety of submarine cables, experts do not rule out the possibility of the occupation carrying out sabotage operations as part of plans to rally international support against Yemen in an attempt to secure alliances to benefit Israel, a plan that America has failed to achieve so far.
