Here a discussion between the Alex duo and a lady entirely new to me. So far as I have read on the subject of the funny business (including “the bomb is for Russia” and in the history generally, the discussion seems sound.  Perhaps a caution too, as there’s a degree of self-promotion, which tends to incline me to a cynical eye…but then so does the appearance of altruism.

I wonder about the matter of financing the long war against civilization, Russia, China, and the remainders of smaller civilizations. So do some other people… 😉

Oh, they can fund it Mr.P.  Their money is elastic.  They fund it by conquest – one method.  The one method that they used of old (Hitler) is that when he conquested Poland, he walked to the bank and took their gold of course, and this happened everywhere.  We do not usually see that as a method of funding, because us normal people see it as theft.  Besides all that, any savings accounts or taking property.  And then, labor was done by conscripts and payments were done by all kinds of floated worthless script.  Now with computers, it is easy as pie using what they call stablecoins (they are not stable but can easily be used as methods of conquest and I have this stinky idea that is why they’re floating stablecoins).  After the 1stWW, the profits of conquest of that war was still floating about ripe for the pickings.

But the lady, the MelK show is (and this is my perspective) is of a very specific ilk.  Fighting a one world government and saying America was deceived.  What she does not say, is that the world was deceived.  And the ilk is that of Breitbart and even the Epoch times, that old anti-China (I don’t have a name for it but if I had, it would be bad!).

The idea is that the US never wanted to be in cahoots with anyone, citing documents of old.   So, they were deceived.  What is the unspoken opposite of that, is that they wanted to remain empirical, and lead the world.  Trump shows us that in technicolor.  This is not new.  In my world, that was not a deception, but a choice.  The take-over of Germany was but the one very visible example of that choice and in recent history.

The American conquest of territories started long before even the 1st WW and long before we noticed that the British empire was not top of the heap any longer.

I do not see how this lady can say that America was deceived.  They conquested the whole country from others.  Again, not a deception but a choice.  The whole Europe by way of the EURO was conquested in this way of course and then, they all continued with NATO to Russia’s borders.

Thanks.  I enjoyed that!  Something for the gossip pages — I once discussed this book with Radhika Desai and Michael Hudson, wanting them to give us a short overview of the funding of the two wars and the interplay of empire.  Radhika did not like it because Immerwahr was talking about ‘brown people’.  She thought it was a racist book.  I made an error and quipped … so, tell us about the white people then – it fell flat.  Lesson, not everyone has a sense of humor and this lady may have been last in the list when senses of humor were distributed.

I think we agree, although many individual US persons, like a fish not knowing water is wet since he never thinks…. well, it’s “deception” but only sorta. US persons are discouraged from critical examination of reality…and since the applied technical (Lippmann et al) rhetoric propaganda and distraction… Call it willful and influenced self-deception with penalties for those who look. As the story the lady tells goes… Dallas & etc…

Betz may be perhaps violated, that would be nice and might be possible, ahdunno, but it not possible to exceed 100%. Getting past Betz would be astonishing. “Conventional” machines seldom exceed 70 to 80% of Betz. Maybe, imho, the new design  reaches 90% and is more robust, safer, cheaper per kwh, and more protean in turbulence and low wind conditions. It’s an impressive job…good engineers!

I applaud the new machine. The spinning “conventional” machines are plagued with basic scaling flaws, they kill critters, sully the landscape, and fly apart….and other bad stuff.

The vertical rotator design is a refinement of pre-existing technology.

The thorny little problem is that most of this Russian oil was seized on high seas and not within EU jurisdiction. They were seized under Article 110 of UNCLOS, where warships have “right of visit” on the high seas if there is reasonable ground to suspect the vessel is stateless. Once ship is confirmed stateless, which is a legal status, not a criminal offense, the enforcement state can apply their domestic jurisdiction to the vessel. But it does not automatically gain authority over cargo, there is no procedural roadmap for executive jurisdiction over it, enforcement or forfeiture solely based on statelessness. Often times there are the citizens or entities of the West involved in the ownership structure and they can bring the legal hammer down on the authorities. E.g. Property rights, Article 17 of EU Charter. So yes, this is essentially a theft.

Second thing to note is that this was not Russian oil at the time of seizure, it did not belong to Russian state or state corp. It belong to an entity that chose the risk of flying a treacherous convenience flag of a country that folds with the first call from the EU and cancels the registration. So EU is not punishing Russia, they are punishing international speculators. Because all Rosneft and Gazprom ships fly Russian flags and there is not a single case of official Russian ship being seized. We need to realize that this mysterious “shadow fleet” is a media narrative, it does not belong to Russian state, but its a fleet with diverse international ownership network serving Russian interest, as hauling Russian hydrocarbons is currently the most profitable venture on high seas, right after illicit trades and less risky.

What this will do is to motivate international speculators to fly Russian flags. Maritime intelligence shows that this is already happening.
