Quick note on the below…  I actually looked into what it would take to get Huawei GPUs/chips for myself to run a local Deepseek copy.  Outside of being unaffordable, and illegal in the good old USA except for the oldest Huawei chips, I would also have to invest in a completely different server infrastructure that is incompatible with western computers and software.  China has a whole rival ecosystem going.
