UNSC Emergency Meeting : Saturday, 28 Feb
“How devoid of value and weight the Gulf monarchies of Arab nation has become… a mere footnote in every major event.
Even when they are bombed, they are not bombed for who they are, nor for a decision they made, nor for a will they exercised, but precisely because they possess no decision, no will, and no sovereignty. Their entire existence is to serve as a military base for the colonizers.
Froth… mere scum!”
This is how Marwa Osman characterized the Gulf Monarchies at the Emergency UN Security Council Meeting on Iran yesterday. She is a superb journalist. I merely chronicle and can break the rules, so instead of Froth and Scum, I can call what happened an Abomination and in a vivid imagination at the time of listening, a Back-street abortion.
This was before the Gulf Monarchies of Arab Nations heard that the Ayatollah Khamenei was killed. As in one voice, at this emergency meeting, they ‘forgot’ who started the war, and blamed Iran for shooting at their innocent little hearts. They are not innocent. For years now they said hardly a word about the Gaza Massacre, and now they want to set the scene at the UN Security Council and exactly like the zionists, pretend that they are innocent.
Iran stated clearly: Close the US bases on your territory. We are not attacking you, we are attacking US soil.

In reality they gather that US soil and welcome them in their pretend countries like evil gathers serpents around hearts.
One could expect this from the Vassal Europeans, who also forgot who started this, and blamed Iran, telling them to go back to negotiations, lose their nuclear program and stop manufacturing missiles and drones. I am not kidding. Much of it I could not listen to.
This statement of New Zealand is typical of Vassal Talk and this is what they spouted at this very weak Security Council. I can list all, but this is a good example and carefully leaving out who started this war.

Japan was just the same: “Iran must abandon its nuclear program and stop regional destabilization activities.” No condemnation of America and Israel’s preemptive strike. Shame on all! It is beyond parody.
For once the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres, said it clearly. The US and Israel started this war. And of course then he went on to say that everyone have to return to negotiations and diplomacy.
For once both Russia and China did not mince words and called the culprits by name – The US and Israel.
Ambassador Fu Cong
President,
I thank Secretary-General António Guterres for his briefing, and support his call for deescalation and return to diplomatic negotiations.
Today, the United States and Israel brazenly launched military strikes against targets inside Iran, causing a sudden escalation of regional tensions. China is deeply concerned about this development. China consistently advocates that all parties should abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and opposes and condemns the use or threat of force in international relations. China stresses that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Iran and other regional countries must be respected.
China is deeply saddened by the large number of civilian casualties caused by the conflict. At all times, the red line for protecting civilians in armed conflict must not be crossed, and the indiscriminate use of force is unacceptable. China calls on all parties to fulfill their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law, effectively ensure the safety of civilians, and avoid attacks on civilian facilities.
The use of force is not the right way to settle international disputes. It only intensifies hatred and confrontation. The escalation and spillover of tensions in the Middle East serve no one’s interests. Dialogue and negotiations are the only way to resolve differences. China calls for an immediate cessation of military actions to prevent further cycles of escalation. The military strikes occurred at a time when the US and Iran were engaged in diplomatic negotiations, which is shocking. The parties concerned should demonstrate political sincerity, resume dialogue and negotiations as soon as possible, and return to the right track of a political solution.
China stands ready to work with the international community to advance peace efforts and help restore peace and stability in the Middle East at an early date.
I thank you, President.
Statement (https://russiaun.ru/en/news/28022026) by Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vassily Nebenzia at UNSC Briefing in connection with US and Israeli Strikes against Iran (New York, February 28, 2026)
Vassily Nebenzia: In recent hours, we have witnessed another extremely dangerous surge in escalation in the Middle East.
In the early hours of February 28, the United States and Israel began launching massive military strikes (https://t.me/MFARussia/28511) on the territory of Iran. It was publicly declared that one of the targets of the attack was the country’s senior political leadership, as well as civilian nuclear facilities.
In real time we are getting reports from the Iranian authorities about casualties, including among civilians: more than 200 people have died in 24 provinces of the country.
We express our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Our country is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of Russian citizens who are currently in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).

US President Donald Trump has announced today that this operation is aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. But such claims are ungrounded. <…>
Iran has repeatedly stressed its readiness to place the preservation of its status as a non-nuclear-weapon state at the heart of new agreements with the US, provided that Iran’s legitimate right as a state party to the NPT to develop peaceful nuclear technologies is respected and upheld.
Against this backdrop, we deem completely unfounded all the attempts by Western countries to justify this US-Israeli aggression by citing alleged threats to international peace and security supposedly emanating from Iran’s nuclear program.
👉 The only credible sources of information on this matter are the relevant reports of the IAEA Director General. And these reports have never indicated that Iran could be developing nuclear weapons. <…>
We expect that the IAEA Director General, Rafael Grossi, will give unambiguous assessments and will condemn this yet another act by the USA and Israel to undermine the authority of the NPT and the global non-proliferation regime as a whole.
<…>
❗️ We demand that the United States and Israel immediately cease their aggressive actions.
There are no and will never be any alternatives to a peaceful and diplomatic resolution of the Iranian issue, including its nuclear component.
We insist on the immediate resumption of political and diplomatic settlement efforts in pursuit for solutions based on international law, mutual respect, and balance of interests.
Russia stands ready to provide all necessary support for such efforts.
There were others that spoke, notably the representative of Colombia who started well but ended up in a mess of confused words.
The US and Zionist Israel representatives as usual sold a bundle of lies. There was nothing new there. If you followed the prequel to this war, you’ve heard it all, and I am hesitant to give them an inch of space. In reality it is the equivalent of exposing oneself to a domain of evil.
The Iranian representative statement summarized:
“This morning, the United States regime – jointly and in coordination with the Israeli regime – initiated an unprovoked and premeditated aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran for the second time in recent months,” said Iran’s Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani.
He accused them of deliberately attacking civilian populated areas in multiple large cities.
“This is not only an act of aggression; it is a war crime and a crime against humanity,” he insisted.
“True to a regrettable pattern”, he said, the United States has attempted to distort facts and rely on misinformation to justify the blatant aggression.
Strikes ‘devoid of legal foundation’
He described such justifications as “illegal and entirely devoid of legal foundation”, with no standing under international law.
“The invocation to ‘preemptive attack,’ claims of imminent threat, or other unsubstantiated political claims, are unfounded legally, morally and politically”.
He also categorically rejected assertions made by the representatives of France, the UK and other Western members regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

If there is anyone that you want to listen to, you can probably follow it from here: https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/02/1167060
This is a suggestion that you don’t waste time with it. Nothing said here will make one iota of difference excepting perhaps in future as a legal document if it is needed. We need shoes thrown at the podium, and everyone is too ‘civilized’ to actually carry out a profoundly uncivilized act, which is called for in that august hall!
