Concept Substitution: A comment from Maria Zakharova
This is a concept that we have to add to our lists of how the US/NATO countries are hitting back.

💬 Export control is an area of government activity that regulates the crossing of borders by special goods that could be used in developing weapons. Since we are talking about border crossing and non-proliferation (including WMD non-proliferation), diplomats across the globe have been working for decades to coordinate joint approaches to these issues. This is highly demanding and meticulous work that requires expert knowledge and professionalism. In addition to the well-being of nations, it also affects their physical security.
Although little-known to the general public, effective mechanisms have been developed over the years, such as the Wassenaar Arrangement (WA), the meetings of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), and the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR).
But, as they say, Baba Yaga is against it. Last month, Washington initiated the development of its own code (https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/230303-Updated-ECHRI-Code-of-Conduct-FINAL.pdf). Obviously, a sovereign state has the right to offer any initiative for discussion.
However, there is a catch: the Americans have linked the issue of export control with human rights (!) and the Summit for Democracy (!).
Yes, that’s right. Now, according to Washington, the transportation of radionuclides suitable for producing neutron sources in alpha-neutron reactions should directly depend on, say, whether a country favours sex-change treatments for kids.
You would say this is absurd. Common sense says it obviously is – but for the United States this is an intentionally destructive action. Monopolisation of yet another important sphere of international relations and the efforts to link it with imposed pseudo-values create a vast field for destructive manoeuvres.
This is another case of concept substitution and a war on common sense.
this fits like a glove; maria deftly delivers the reverberating consequences of alistair’s analysis.
Yes, reminds me of Caitlin Johnstone – she cuts to the heart of the issue – no beg pardons, just facts then analysis then conclusion. Beautiful
Easy on the eye too Steve!
No argument there, Col !
